"Hits Different" is a great song and that is the only correct opinion.

Any chance Lover (Live from Paris) debuts in the top 10? do swifties know how many copies were sold through the US store? I'm sure someone must have done the whole tracking order numbers thing? I think I saw a tweet that said it's on track for Top 10 in the UK. based on that, I want to say it's possible? especially if the streams from the regular versions of the songs on it were to be added to this release since it will sell more pure copies than the studio album. that rule probably doesn't apply for a live EP, though, since it is a different recording entirely. I don't recall any live albums that benefited from that rule.

It's aiming for Top 40 in the UK, not Top 10

Not worth bumping/unlocking the folklore thread for, but she's releasing a vinyl of The Long Pond Studio Sessions for Record Store Day.

"Hits Different" and "Karma" are both 10's and anyone who disagrees is a Qanon supporter!

I think Paris is the only cringeworthy song on Midnights.
Rhyming Paris with somewhere else... was a choice.
Bubblegum Taylor is not it for me.
I am in the Clean, Getaway Car, Cruel Summer, Mirrorball Taylor subset.

I like Paris but
“Sit quiet by my side in the shade And not the kind that's thrown I mean, the kind under where a tree has grown”
TAYLOR
COME ON
HOW HAS THAT NOT BEEN CALLED OUT?!
Worst lyrical moment on Midnights, easily. It’s *distractingly* bad.

The album that never ends... I mean 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT: THE ANTHOLOGY' out now!

I agree that the "somewhere else" rhyme in "Paris" is clunky but I genuinely like the "shade" line for some reason. It makes the song more enjoyable for me. It is not one of my favorites but it is still a nice listen.

While Paris has some cheesy lines it’s a fun bop that isn’t meant to be taken seriously.

I thought she’d be above Ariana by now. Interesting. She's taking the record one by one: Overall, 100m, 200m, 300m, 400m, 500m and so on Don't forget she's only been on Spotify five and a half years and according to many she's only had like one or two real hits since then. Very interesting indeed. The true hitmaker of the eras

I totally forgot that she was one of the few artists at the time who did not allow their catalog to stream. Glad she came around!

‘cardigan’ is really becoming a classic for her. It’s well on its way to 1B eventually. Any reason for the recent uptick in streams? ‘willow’ was outpacing it for a while there.

On top of midnights smashing and people discovering her catalog, it has gone viral several times and I’ve seen it enter multiple Viral Spotify Charts in countries where it initially didn’t make a dent. I’m assuming it’s just one of those songs which takes a while to grow.

A little late to the conversation but this is my version of the album: 1. Lavender Haze 2. Maroon 3. Anti-Hero 4. You're On Your Own, Kid (Strings Remix) 5. Snow On The Beach 6. The Great War 7. Bigger Than The Whole Sky 8. Hits Different 9. High Infidelity 10. Would've, Could've, Should've 11. Dear Reader 12. Karma 13. Sweet Nothing (Piano Remix) *The 1st five songs are an amazing run of songs. It's the middle part of the album ("Midnight Rain" through "Labyrinth") that drags down the album for me, so I basically replaced them with the best of the 3 am tracks. *I wanted to include "Hits Different" since it is one of my favorite tracks so I replaced Paris with it, as it felt the most fitting. *I also chose the Lavender bonus remixes to replace the original versions. I prefer the strings remix of "You're On Your Own Kid" because the string instrumentation makes it feel more dramatic and the piano remix of "Sweet Nothing" better captures the essence of the song. This tracklist makes for a much better listening experience for me. I think part of that is because it's a nice split between Antonoff and Dessner. Folklore is the best of her last three studio albums partly because it provides a nice balance between these two producers. Midnights has too much Antonoff and Evermore leans too much into Dessner. Folklore, while not evenly split and has more Dessner, still has a sizable amount of Antonoff tracks.

I'm so happy Anti-Hero is smashing the way it has. It truly deserves. It's that good and I hope it's a front-runner for SOTY next year at the Grammy's.
It would be a much better and frankly far more interesting win than All Too Well and no amount of cries from pretentious Swifties will change that. Sexy babies unite!

The Archer is one of the worst songs Taylor Swift has made since she went full pop, with production that deliberately goes nowhere and peters out and garbage lyrics.
One of her most overrated songs ever.

One of her most overrated songs ever. While the Archer is not in my top ten, look at any Taylor Swift song ranking - it is always top 30 (for a reason). It is one of the most self-reflective songs she has. "I've never grown up, it's getting so old, "Cut off my nose just to spite my face and hate my reflection for years and years." Those two lines alone elevate this song to something more. Instead of finger pointing, she looks inward on her past mistakes. This song walked, so Anti Hero could run.

The worst part of "The Archer" is when she quotes Humpty Dumpty. I about lost it there.
