What about the video she just shot? It would seem to me that Karma would have been completed when AH, B, and LH were. If so, I’d say the newly shot video is either for Vigilante s**t or something from Speak Now TV. It’s entirely possible the original plan was for the first 3 to be the 3 singles but she pushed the Bejeweled video out early to ensure a Top 10 peak, and “Karma” is a fan favorite so it makes sense to pivot to it instead of Bejeweled. Could be. We won’t know until the video is released. I’m not sure the art heist vibe fits Karma, but we have next to nothing to go off of so who knows. I did think she had made reference to the fact that more Midnights visuals had already been filmed after the LH video was released, but I could be remembering that wrong. Either way, hope we don’t have to wait too long for the video! |

I know we’ll never know, but I really really don’t buy the theory that you drop an entire video with Oscar winners and burlesque legends that you self-directed, and disrupt a hypothetical entire future campaign for a song, and do all that all of a sudden to get it an extra chart placement or two.
It’s just not grounded in the reality of the expense (time, personal, business) of creating and releasing a campaign around a song.
Her whole thing is being disciplined. As we saw with what they did with, like, Question, and releasing instrumentals etc, there are other things to do than just essentially acting with the impulsivity of a random video game player and hitting control alt delete “OMG GUYS RELEASE THE VIDEO NOW!!!!111”.
More than likely it was planned that way because albums tend to have a pre-release single and then an album release single (so 2 songs have been promoted), but since it was just Anti-Hero upon release they also planned to drop Bejeweled.

The slayage is unfathomable. By the end of the year, 9 out of 10 of her studio albums will be eligible for 5x platinum (sorry ‘Evermore’). No other artist is even close to this. Her becoming the most successful female artist of all time is a done deal at this point.
And ‘Cruel Summer’ is looking more and more deserving of a radio push. If it creeps up higher, say staying consistently in the top 20, she may simply have no other choice. 😈

The biggest drop record is owned by Lionel Richie and his "Hello from Las Vegas" album, which debuted at #2 and disappeared from the chart the week after, so it won't be a record but very close. |

It would be so cool to see two songs from different albums smashing together but I'm not getting my hopes up on "Cruel Summer" officially being pushed. I'd love to be wrong as I would love for my favorite song from Lover to gain attention from non-Taylor fans!

I'm pretty sure Cruel Summer has already crossed over to non-Taylor fans because of TikTok and curiosiy. There's a lot of Swifties but not enough for #33 on US Spotify after 4 years
