Could AIW top the airplay YE or does Heat Waves have it? It very well can, though it depends on whether the gap is close enough that another 2 weeks of airplay (i’m going off the assumption Heat Waves leaves during Midnights), is gonna be enough.

Looking at all these "Cuff It" updates today, it really does feel like the calm before the storm. I wonder how big this is gonna be. I hope the song doesn’t peak before the Christmas freeze. But with pop radio still on the horizon for Cuff It, I’m pretty sure we’ll get a nice top 10 peak.

A new Youngboy album? Or "project" as they call everything these days?
I think Stray Kids will be #1 on BB200.

I think Stray Kids will be #1 on BB200. Yup (from Billboard's K-Pop Columnist) Been a really good year for JYP with NAYEON, TWICE, and now Stray Kids having big albums.

Looking at all these "Cuff It" updates today, it really does feel like the calm before the storm. I wonder how big this is gonna be. It's doing fine in streaming, but I'm surprised it hasn't truly taken off. It's apparently killing it on TikTok, so I am a bit confused by it not being top 5 on Apple and Spotify.

Other songs that have taken off on TikTok have blown up on streaming quickly, so it's not all that far reaching of me. "Cuff It" seems to be growing into a hit, so it's not a criticism, just an observation. More so the conversation around the album and singles don't seem to be fully reflected in the streaming so I've been a bit confused all era.

Cuff It is already in the top 5 globally on AM, top 10 in the US. It’s performing excellently there for a more pop flavored song and is climbing for weeks now on Spotify too. People are still discovering the song, it would be foolish to expect a song being #1 everywhere in the world a few weeks after going super viral.

Has it gone "super viral" or are we expecting it to do so? Obviously it's not Running Up That Hill kind of viral hit yet.
(I don't use TikTok, just follow the streaming charts, that's why I'm asking)

(I don't use TikTok, just follow the streaming charts, that's why I'm asking) It's been #1 on TikTok at least the past week or two, but I've seen talk about it on social media since the album dropped. It's shaping up to be a prime example of an 'organic hit,' but because of all the social media stuff I expected it to skyrocket quickly.

I think “Cuff It” is rising pretty quickly though. It’s top 10 on AM and iTunes, #12 on Spotify. The real question is, will it stick around…

The real question is, will it stick around… Seeing how Break My Soul had some longevity, but not great longevity, I would expect this to be a little less. But I still do think it'll make the year end for 2023.

It's doing fine in streaming, but I'm surprised it hasn't truly taken off. It's apparently killing it on TikTok, so I am a bit confused by it not being top 5 on Apple and Spotify. It's viral on TikTok, promising starts at four formats (with the possibility for more), top 10 on iTunes, Top 10 on AM, almost top 10 on Spotify. Also making moves globally. And the album is still sitting pretty in the top 10 over two months later (thanks to her streaming that's just "fine"). For a 40+ year old artist that debuted in the 90's, she's doing fantastic. Even more so when you consider the lackluster promo. Her peers would kill for streaming numbers and stats like these. I'm confused as to why we're trying to put Beyoncé in the same lane as artists who blew up in the digital/streaming eras. If Britney, Usher, Alicia, Christina, Justin, Pink, etc. were pulling numbers like these, nobody would question how good they were. We'd all be amazed, but somehow it reads as just fine for Beyoncé? I get that she's a big name and the expectations/standards are there, but we also have to approach this with some perspective. She's doing good by any measure. But she's doing especially good for an artist that came up in the era she did.

It's doing fine in streaming, but I'm surprised it hasn't truly taken off. It's apparently killing it on TikTok, so I am a bit confused by it not being top 5 on Apple and Spotify. But she's doing especially good for an artist that came up in the era she did. Completely agree but let's not pretend that the 6 years between Lemonade and Renaissance didn't help to create the hype. Half of the other artists you mentioned were commercially irrelevant already in 2016 let alone now. Anyway, she is an icon and will remain such.

I think “Cuff It” is rising pretty quickly though. It’s top 10 on AM and iTunes, #12 on Spotify. The real question is, will it stick around… The radio traction is enough of an indication that it probably will, though i don't think it's gonna outlast Break My Soul.

Completely agree but let's not pretend that the 6 years between Lemonade and Renaissance didn't help to create the hype. Half of the other artists you mentioned were commercially irrelevant already in 2016 let alone now. Anyway, she is an icon and will remain such. And that just proves the point even further. The fact that Beyoncé has remained competitive is a feat. One that's being consistently undersold by trying to look at her career strictly through the lens of the streaming era. And taking a long stretch between albums doesn't guarantee anything, that approach has ruined several artist's careers (including some of the ones I mentioned). This album is showing legs and that's something completely separate from the initial hype of a new release. The list of artists that were still this competitive almost 25 years into their career is not a long one. Not in my lifetime anyway. This would be like Rihanna getting a #1 in 2030 or Lady Gaga getting a #1 in 2033. Both possible of course, but it would still be amazing. What Beyoncé is doing right now is not typical or normal, so I'm not understanding any reaction that's just "eh!" or she's doing "fine."

What are other musicians that come close to her longevity? Madonna comes to mind, but even her charting power wasn’t as prominent in the US after the millennium compared to where Bey is right now. MJ of course, 70s 80s and the 90s. Who else?

"Cuff It" should shoot its way up the charts with it being sent to radio. It'll be a multi-format smash hit. I think it'll have a good shot at #1 on the Hot 100. I just hope Beyoncé releases a music video. Beyoncé - CUFF IT 7.83 (+2.28)

Break my soul and cuff it actually align pretty closely timeline wise to how many years they were in the industry with Madonnas 4 minutes, her last smash in the US.

Had she started as a solo artist in the late 90s, her career would've been very different I assume.

I'm very happy that she's getting another hit off Renaissance, it wouldn't shock me at all if Cuff It ended up performing better than Break My Soul on the Hot 100.
