8(+1) Sia - Unstoppable 60.39(+1.09)
Wouldn't be surprised if this managed to get to #1 in airplay. Picking up quite nicely on Pop radio.

Out of all the “old songs becoming hits” trend, this is the most uneventful and bizarre one. There is no rhyme or reason behind it. Was it ever Viral? No. Is it being Streamed? No. Is Sia even promoting it? No. On top of that the song sounds like a rehash of the other Sia songs from 2016 so it feels so outdated too. Not sure why this resurrection had to happen.

It experienced enough of a resurgence that I'm not surprised it re-charted on airplay. The resurgence was years in the making tbh, I remember it scaling the iTunes chart several times before 2022. However, the fact that its #8 on radio (and gaining like crazy) is wild. The only notable platform its done well on is iTunes, where it's cooling down. It hasn't hit the top 200 on Apple Music or Spotify. Hell, its #259 on Amazon Music, the platform I expected it to be doing well on. Maybe the callouts are really, really good? Idk. I like Sia too, but this is one of her more inessential songs for me (stream big girls cry, stream elastic heart, stream day too soon, stream clap your hands, stream)

Be on the lookout for this one. Unofficial video has 4M in 4 days and the song’s meme potential is outrageous.

Honestly, 'Unstoppable' becoming a hit in 2022 isn't even worth getting upset over. I'm here for it because I like seeing Aussie artists doing well (personally, the song itself is just 'meh'), but no matter how you feel about Sia it's probably gonna be her last hit anyway unless she starts making better music. Sis peaked musically a while ago and unless she packs heat on a future project this is likely to be her commercial swan song. So just let her have her moment IMO.

Not sure if you meant to say "sis" here or if autocorrect just stepped in because the amount of times my phone has tried to correct "Sia" to "Sis" is astronomical.

I'm kinda digging the "Unstoppable" success. It's one of those songs I've never listened to, but for some reason, I know it. When it starting rising on Hot AC, I was confused because I thought it had already been a hit (I'm assuming because I've seen it so many times in commercials and tiktoks/reels). So now it feels like it's success kind of matches it's infamy a little more.
Plus I'm all about the 40 plussers getting some shine lately.

RIP Bones, Ghost Story, (country radio seems to have pulled the plug on that one), and So Good. Welp, So Good left early, so Like I Love Country Music will take it's place for this week's recurrents.

Y’all think Unholy will have a chance at #1 or will Bad Habit stay put at #1 until Taylor drops the lead single?

Crazy that we may see two country songs in top 10 again but one of them is different from the last time.

It seems like Bad Habit is gonna have enough of an advantage to stay at number-one this week. I do think Unholy will go number-one next week IF Taylor doesn't release the lead-off single though.

And this continues Dojas like 2 year stretch of consistent hits. This era has been WILD for her.
And the number one “only being” around 226 means Taylor is probably damn near clearing the top 10 on release weekend of her streaming stays as strong as it did for RedTV

A shame Zach Bryan might be blocked from the Top 10 by the Lil Baby and Taylor Swift album bombs but the fact it's this high in the first place - and still without proper radio support - I've never seen organic support this big for one country song in a long time, if ever.

I doubt she will 'clear' the Top 10 but I would love to see Taylor Swift debut/chart at least 4 songs in the Top 10. currently, there have been 12 artists who have achieved this feat, all of which are men. it's overdue that a woman did it, too.

It was pretty top-heavy with All Too Well taking up most of the hype. If you go back to album-week numbers for folklore on the other hand, her 10th biggest debuting song was in the 130-140 points range. So if you buy that her popularity hasn't declined since 2020, then she could easily take up most of the top 10. As we saw with Drake earlier this year, so much of this depends on album quality as well.

If Unholy went number 1 would this be the first time a trans & non-binary person hit the top spot? i’m digging this entire top 2 of queer people. Also, unholy going number 1 in the month of october would seem very fitting
