My favorite part about all this is Swifties trying to make Taylor out to be some sort of victim being attacked by men because of some IG stories like if Drake did the exact same thing to block her, they wouldn't be calling him every name in the book lmao. Hell, they already made him out to be the bad guy before all this. The moment Taylor lost out on the Artist of the Decade honor, he became competition/an enemy in their minds lol. I still remember Ariana fans being mad when he blocked her on the Billboard 200 in 2016 and on the Hot 100 in 2018. Both times, it just so happened that his album/singles were stronger than hers but Ariana stans acted like Drake was this god-like figure going out of his way to stop a woman from being successful lol. This is all so funny because I remember Hotline Bling being blocked and many Drake fans feeling like he had missed his shot at finally getting a #1 hit as a lead act. Fast-forward 7 years later and he has scored has scored 8 #1 hits as a lead act since then. Taylor got blocked twice in 2019 and since then, she has scored 4 #1 hits and Ariana went on to score multiple #1 albums/#1 hits after being blocked by Drake in 2016/2018. All of this just demonstrates how the charts are and that's part of the reason why it makes me laugh when certain acts do the most to game it. Like, its really not that deep, man lol. And maybe it's just me but I feel it's way more fun watching a song/album smash organically throughout its run than when you know certain strings had to be pulled for it to reach certain levels of success.

I just don't get why Taylor is using tactics to stay at #1. So what if Drake got #1 this week. Taylor would have got back to #1 in a week or 2 without chart tactics.

That Drake story is so petty - as is the producer's comment
I mean, yes, Taylor did her tricks but it's not like 'Anti-Hero' was flopping or something, I believe the gap wasn't even that little and a lot less sales would have ended in the same result And I doubt the 'world know what the real #1 is' when most people on the world have heard neither two of the tracks (also AH was above RF globally soo...)
So then for once Drake does not take the #1 spot on debut week, SHOCKER! 'Jimmy Cooks' had the advantage of a lack of competition and his other songs were basically just promoted more, he still has a whole lot of Top 10 hits this week, why childishly cross out Taylor? She won the game so be a fair player
Not only has his music seen a decline for me personally but now I also start to dislike the Drake itself

Taylor and Drake are playing the game so whatever. What is concerning is the behaviour of Taylor's stans who are enjoying getting exploited by her. If you are a grown adult and keep buying all the fast food remixes your fave puts out for the sake of a meaningless chart accomplishment, think about saving all that money to book a certain appointment. And I don't mean Taylor's concerts.

Or selling overpriced merch. Something similiar you would get 5 times cheaper somewhere else. Almost every artist in some way exploits fan mentality.

Anyway, You Proof is #25 on Hot 100 while SITO is #26, so the latter could be #1 on Hot Country Songs chart next week. And the two Bailey Zimmerman songs are next to each other again (RAAHP at #58, Fall In Love at #59).

I think it's definitely an issue where the reactions are drastically different regarding Taylor and other artists (especially BTS) doing similar tricks to get or retain #1 (judging by the number of likes and how some people are literally mocking Drake in twitter stan war style). But the double standards are even more significant on twitter and other forums, so what could I say really. I just hope that you're not one of those people who roasted BTS stans (meg was an extreme case I have to admit) to hell before and cheered Taylor during this saga.

If the remixes didn't count toward the Hot 100, do you think Swift would be making and releasing them? Dude... what is your deal? Our favorite artist repressed a download for WEEKS until it peaked at radio so she could get her 18th #1.... this has been going on for DECADES. GET OVER IT! And that was a tactic to get a #1 and I've never said otherwise. Like Soundcl🕤ck I don't like tactics/one-week remixes/etc.

Hate to break it to him, but the world not only doesn't collectively know what the #1 song in the world is, they wouldn't care if they did. The *only* people who care about stuff like this is chart watchers, industry folks, and artists. lol

End of the day it shows both of thier star power, and how strong it's been🤷🏽. It's fun to watch, and Drake can always get another #1, it's not the end of the world.

I'm sure Billboard loves seeing totals like "Anti-Hero" saw this week. Heck, I don't think even BTS saw that big of singles sales with those marketing moves, did it?
If people are buying the product, in a legal/legitimate way in terms of the charts, it's a good thing and there is no problem. If other acts have a problem with it and care that much about a chart position, step it up and try to play the game as well as the ones who've mastered it.

the stars aligned for her to get that sales figure with her tour — remember the 10 witch remixes of Willow helped gas it to number one but didn't even come close to selling 100,000 in a week

Meg was saying the BTS army literally collecting international funds to buy BTS to a ten week number one (because the streams and airplay were not that of a 1 week number one let alone 10) was okay because the mainstream media was Xenophobic. I truly don’t see the comparison.

This is why it is important to step back and get perspective on things sometimes. At the end of the day, these are just metric tools. Charts. Meaningless unless your name is listed in them and even then meaningless in the ultimate grand scheme of things. No one is hurting and they both are ridiculously successful/at the top of their game. No one need feel sorry or feel bad for either. lol

Well I mean Drake and his friends clearly didn't see the perspectives, so won't the Taylor stans who poked fun at Drake for losing the 'game'. I do wonder whether we're gonna get any musical stuff related to this drama though (and hopefully it has better music contents than Drake's usual disses or LWYMMD...)

Wow, Joji might've had a mini-album bomb on the Hot 100 if it wasn't for Drake/21 Savage. Wild how much he's blown up this year.
I really hope "Die for You" becomes another radio hit for him, it's even better than "Glimpse of Us".
