I will say that while I am disappointed this didn’t do better than it probably should have, I am happy this got a solid Top 20 peak especially since her main focus this year was RUTWM and not this song. Wish this could have done more, but it did fine enough all things considered.

Gutted that this era didn't pan out well for her at radio. STC is easily her tightest full-length project of the 4 she's done and she should've been riding on a wave of smash hit after smash hit at radio, so to say I'm disappointed in her dismal fortunes with "Heartfirst" and now this would be an understatement. That said, she's never been more buzzed-about in her career in all other aspects outside of airplay, so I'm definitely hopeful for a strong rebound and as much as I would love, love, LOVE for there to be another 1-2 singles from STC, atp she is probably better off just pivoting to some brand new music. The EP has been promoted in a lot of avenues outside of country radio to great success, but it feels like it would be a bit odd/too late for her to push anything from it at the country format now, and while "Muscle Memory" sounds like such a wasted opportunity for a hit, she just doesn't have the momentum to keep coming back to the STC well any longer, methinks. She's likely best off just dropping a brand new song that's a total homerun obvious hit in like maybe February-March and then let that launch a new record. And honestly, I am more than ready for more new music.

Kelsea really needs a label change a place like Sony Nashville or Big Machine could do wonders for her career Black River is a sinking ship and Kelsea needs to get out soon.

She confirmed on instagram today that IYGDIGDT was pulled this week (which was obvious) but also that it was the last single from STC.

At least this was very successful in Canada, peaking at #2 (BB) for two weeks. This was her first top 3 hit since hole in the bottle in 2020 in Canada. The peak difference is similar to Everything She Ain't.

"Subject to Change" was a work of art and might be my favorite album from her; it was loaded with potential hits. I cannot believe all that we got from radio was two singles that were top 20 and top 30 hits.
I find it absolutely wild that the beginning of last year ahead of Maren/Miranda/Kelsea/Carrie releasing albums all the same year, I was worried that radio wouldn't embrace all of the 4 women fully since there would be so much new female lead music, and that one or two of them would fall by the wayside. I find it crazy now that almost all of those album eras are over (save Carrie who is probably on her last D&R single), and country radio did not embrace ANY of these albums hardly at all.

I think ''Subject to Change'' is Kelsea's ''Come on Over''. Some of us thought she wanted to be next taylor but what she really aimed at is next Shania. It's a shame how the singles does not perform well. And ''If I Was a Cowboy'' did not hit top 10 is just such a mistreat. With ''Bluebird'' hitting no.1,country radio seems to be loving Miranda back but it's gone too soon.

Sang a new song at the Opry last night with Hillary Lindsey and Karen Fairchild, who helped write it as well. I have a feeling KB5 is going to be special. She did say that she is in the early stages of writing and making the album, which has me wondering if it will be a minute until the first single will get released.

The fact I'm only halfway kidding...
