This seems to happen every year so I will say this. An artist no one has heard of right now will have a year end top 10 hit in 2023. Latto did it with Big Energy in 2022 although the song was kinda exploding end of 2021. Does Rema count?

Rihanna won't release any new music in 2023. She'll do the SuperBowl, break whatever records are associated with that, then f**k off back to selling Avon and making bank. I'm going to take this as a partial win. If the above prediction is wrong and she does actually release an album, I think it won't meet the high expectations people have. She'd get a #1 with the first single, but it won't have longevity, and the album will sell well in the first week but it won't have the impact that one would expect from a Rihanna single. All the hype and wishing she'd come back is based in nostalgia and artists never have huge eras of current hits on the back of nostalgia. Of course, if Rihanna can reinvent herself and establish a whole new set of memes, viral moments and innovative music, sure, it could happen, but I get the impression she doesn't have the interest to devote herself to that sort of work with music. N/a - but I might recycle this one for next year. Other predictions: -Lil Nas X will release a spring single followed by a late-spring/early-summer album. The single will be very poppy and radio friendly. The album won't be as interesting or unique as Montero, sadly. It'll do well at first but fade before the end of the year. He'll continue as an A-list celebrity though. WRONG -Radio (and the charts in general) will welcome a couple more random old songs. Nothing as old as RUTH, but my crystal ball sees one song from the 90s coming back - either becoming a hit for the first time or surpassing its original minor chart performance. Kind of. Nothing from the 90s as far as I remember, but "Cruel Summer" counts as an older song! -Adele wins a couple Grammys but nothing in the main categories. Other than that, she won't have much of a presence in 2023. Kind of right. She won one award but lost all the others, including Record, Album and Song of the Year. -The Midnights era doesn't last too long into 2023. Taylor will announce her next Taylor's Version before her tour begins and a second Taylor's Version will come later in the fall, after the American leg wraps up. I think this one was spot on! I don't know if it was particularly grand prediction by any means but it's a win all the same. -A song will top the Hot 100 long enough to challenge the "Old Town Road" record, but it won't break it. It will reach 18 or 19 weeks before falling. It'll be something random by an artist we know but not expect such a reign to come from, like a Charlie Puth or someone like that. Yes? Somewhat. Morgan Wallen got to 16 weeks I think. -Ed Sheeran drops an album and it more or less flops, save for one decent hit. But he is involved with another major hit, either as a co-writer or guest artist, later in the summer. Yes, then no. -Doja Cat will dominate the summer with a major hit, featuring someone. I can't see who it is. Bruno? Ariana? Not sure. She then releases a new album in the fall. Nah - unless we consider the featuring being Dionne. idk if this is a win tho. -A major artist from yesteryear makes some sort of comeback a la Elton John and gets a hit (not as big as "Cold Heart") by collaborating with a present-day artist. Their involvement in the song itself will be minimal as it will be a remix of some sort, but it will make their back catalogue popular again. Someone like Hall & Oats. I don't think so. -Dua Lipa drops a one-off single that does about what Lizzo's "Rumors" did and people on Pulse begin to panic that she's over and in her flop era. But like Lizzo, she'll drop her album (in early Fall) and the first single does really well. Her era will end up being bigger than Lizzo's but not as big as Future Nostalgia obviously. Kind of. People panicked over "Dance The Night," lol, but that ended up being a hit. The album isn't out yet but the first single is doing well. -Drake releases 2 albums in 2023. Both hit #1. Both have album bombs. Both occupy at least 8/10 of the Hot 100 Top 10. Rinse and repeat. One of the songs on either album samples the Golden Girls theme song for some reason and will sound terrible. Nope. He did one album, had 7/10 of the Hot 100 Top 10. I don't think he sampled Golden Girls? lmao
