I love Gaga as much as the next and I'm all for her getting a hit in 2022/23, but this trend of sending 5-10 year old songs up the charts is already wearing out its welcome. The unpredictability was intriguing at first, but it's a very sad commentary on the state of music that the best "currents" available are...not currents at all. New acts need to step it up

One of the biggest hits of the year is from 1985 and it literally destroys most of the years newest big hits, so I welcome the resurgence of overlooked album tracks and classics that never got their due. This kind of thing was a huge joke years ago; "This is how Cruel Summer can still be a single," well now with TikTok that's a possibility. It's like the wild west, it's awesome.

I also don’t mind old music going viral if it’s songs like this and RUTH. Tends to be the kind of music that never would’ve hit in its heyday but was better than most of the stuff it was competing with at the time.

Bloody Mary is outstreaming 37 out of 50 songs that are on TTH and it still doesn't get added to it. These curator$ rely on everything but streams to add or keep songs on it...

It's still possible this song could get added to TTH at some point.
"Die For You" by The Weeknd has been outstreaming several songs on TTH for months now and has never been added. So it's possible to do well on streaming without being on that playlist.

So beyond thrilled about this!!! This has always been a great song imo and I’m excited to see how this chart run goes. And if this is what will get Lady Gaga a hit single in 2023, I’ll take it!
I think Stranger Things and RUTH have opened up a Pandora’s box that TikTok has been trying to pry open for years. It’ll be interesting going forward to see how this trend of resurgences for songs that deserved their flowers when they first came out to begin with changes things in the music industry and at radio formats across the entire musical spectrum. I’m also intrigued to see how record labels will use this to their marketing advantage, because this could potentially open up a world of possibilities even for legacy acts.

One thing we can count on is Z100 supporting a Gaga single.

Ha ha I'm here for this being a weird little viral hit though I doubt it will do anything serious on radio. I wish she still made songs like this sometimes. Born This Way had some freaking amazing songs on it.

One thing we can count on is Z100 supporting a Gaga single. We want support from the big ones, and for more than just 2 months, as that has been the ceiling for all of her singles after Applause on pop radio. This song deserves to be in heavy rotation for months, if Harry's As It Was is back in heavy rotation even though it was released eight months ago, then pop radio may very well find a spot for Gaga. She's only had one Top 10 single on pop radio in the last 9 years, that's a shame.

So it's possible to do well on streaming without being on that playlist. Die For You only started pulling 2M daily streams a month after being sent to radio, when it was hovering around the Top 30 on pop radio while Bloody Mary has been pulling almost 3M daily streams for nearly two weeks now with zero airplay and no video oficial like Die For You already had. Die For You didn't need TTH as it already had pop radio on its side, because, unlike the poor treatment given to Gaga's stuff, pop radio plays anything The Weeknd drops, so Gaga needs the support of big playlists to milk this song to its fullest potential. If pop radio plays this song that will be a plus, as Gaga has been blacklisted for nearly a decade on the format.

I have questions: 1. Can radio stations play a song without the record label/artist's consent? 2. If radio stations are playing/adding Bloody Mary, does that mean Gaga's label is pulling strings or are radio stations doing it on their own? 3. If so, why doesn't the song have an impact date set yet? Are they waiting for 2023? Is the song likely to still receive an impact date in the coming weeks or not? Something I want to know too. Radio can play anything it want to without getting sued?

This is performing really poorly in the US and the rest of the Anglosphere so far. It looks like it will be a hit only in Eastern Europe.

It's called lack of taste Seriously though, cannot see any pop song break through in December in the US and UK anyway as the most streamed tracks are Christmas songs. US an UK are the most Christmas-obsessed markets in the world.

This is Gaga's most stable song on streaming since Shallow. It has been getting 2.5M updates for nearly two weeks. Yet, her label is doing nothing.

...this literally just got started. Also, Christmas. Basically, what the f**k are you on.
MOCK-UP: ?? ?? LADY GAGA Bloody Mary 125 1 124 1.199
+47 Spins +46 Bullet +0.256 Audience
Three more days of this should see it top 50 on its own, but if not Harry looks on track to finally go recurrent, joining Morgan Wallen and Lizzo who looks to be getting purged.

This is amazing! Would’ve preferred “Heavy Metal Lover” or “Scheibe” but 3rd best album track is still great!

One thing we can count on is Z100 supporting a Gaga single. from today's update in allaccess we can see Z100 was the first station to play it. They were the only ones to play it on Wednesday 12/7.

Let's just delete the past 10 years and pretend this is the follow-up to "Marry The Night"

If we're re-writing history, keep 'Do What U Want' but the solo version and the Christina remix are the only versions that exist.
