Decided to give this song a spin again and...still one of the best songs on Prism, which I don't love outside the singles. I was actually in India right after the album dropped and I remember playing this song for my friends there and they all loved it. This is a Miley thread OMG. I am really curious about the rest of the album after Flowers, especially sonic consistency. |

I cannot get over how her streams have blown up across the board. I was just checking random tracks of hers and every single one has managed to have a very noticeable increase in streams since "Flowers" dropped. Even the least streamed album track from the Meet Miley Cyrus side of the Hannah Montana 2 soundtrack, "Clear," went from ~400 streams per day to over ~1,500. People are here for her now and I'm loving it.

For anyone interested, a Youtube channel called “Deep Dive” made a 3 part documentary detailing Miley’s career, from birth through to the end of the Bangerz era. I just finished watching it and I think they are very well produced. It was interesting to watch and reevaluate the way she was treated as an adult now. Great way to prepare for the incoming Miley renaissance 🙏🏼

That's honestly so damn impressive considering Bangerz has both Wrecking Ball and We Can't Stop, both of which were larger hits than Plastic Hearts's two major singles. (Though Prisoner has always streamed well internationally, likely thanks to Dua.) Bangerz also has more tracks, lol.
Angels Like You in particular really blows me away. 300 million streams and it wasn't even a major single. No radio release, no live performance, just a video randomly thrown out there.

Per the link image I thought they were going to be sensationalist trash documentaries, but I was SO wrong. It took me some time to watch it all, but I did by watching parts and listening to other parts while working or driving. |

Then you have artists like Lady Gaga, Sia, and The Weeknd who are currently/recently smashing with songs released on albums last decade. Hell, even Elton John had two smash hits last year. And let’s not forget Kate Bush. Honestly, anything is possible at this point. |

There's plenty of room for Katy and Miley to do well if the streaming/TikTok gods determine Katy worthy of another hit. It was also just a throwaway comment at another album track that should have been a single. It wasn't that deep.
I'm glad Plastic Hearts is getting love, even if it deserved more back during it's initial release. The title track is one of her best songs ever.

I'm really happy at how "Flowers" has increased the streams and interest in Plastic Hearts.
Hopefully they'll release the second single a week before the album that'll ride the hype and become another big debut/top 5 hit for her. As well as album release being massive and boosting streaming of her back catalogue even more!
