Internet went down so I saved this on WORD and copy and pasted it tonight.
#40. Coin - Chapstick
Starting off tonight by losing a Top 10. Not a good. Especially since thie one sooo good. I got used to the static in his vocals since it was just a small insignificant part of the song.
#39. Silversun Pickups - Scared Together
Good enough song for the band. Melody was kinda nonexsistant, but I dug the Weuh weuh's the guiatsr made.
#38. Bleachers - How Dare You Want More
"jon" Bleachers goes Springsteen. I could have sworn that was the E Street Band. It's 80's , It's fun. What's there not to like?
#37. The Black Keys - It Ain't Over
Not as catchy as I'm used to from the band, but damn good guitar work.
#36. Rise Against - Talking To Ourselves.
Correct one prevails. They have made this song about 20 times, but it still sounds great.
#35. The Black Keys - Wild Child
They have done better, but this still has one hell of a hook. Should have done at least Top 20.
#34. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Black Summer
Damn! Lost my #3. That's surprising as F U C K. Do I sense a little backlash because the song overstayed on the charts? Anyway I thought it was great. Loved the accent , the fact that the lyrics make no sense, and found out a little about Anthony's heritage.
#33. The Wombats - If You Ever Leave, I'm Coming With You
Not a single Top 10, and yet scores pretty high. Another one of these songs I probably should have charted. Catchy enough. At least hearing this one again made me go preview the whole album.
#32. The Head and The Heart Viginia - (Wind In The Night)
I don't care for this song one bit, but thanks to 2022's TikTok alt year, I didn't have the HEART to tank it. Guess I'll have to wait for AAA year end list to do that.
#31. Wilderado - Head Right
Not a band I download nor anything like that, but it has its moments
#30. Walk The Moon - Giants
At this rate I'll be down to 1 top 10 by the end of the night. Anyay This bops right, So catchy so melodic. I can't help wishing thet had taken more time on creating a better intro.
#29. Foo Fighters - Love Dies Young
Great rocking jam. I hope they will decide to continue making jams like this in the future, because frankly our Alternative format needs them to keep the rock vibe alive.
#28. Portugal. The Man - What, Me Worry
This was alright. Kinda groovy , but his falsetto or whatever can get garting after a while.
#27. The Interrupters - In The Mirror
Wonderful NRGetic song. Easily my second favorite from them. I don't know what's more dissapointing? The fact that I'm out another Top 10 or that American Idiot gave it such a low ranking.
#26. Culture Wars - Faith
This sin't terrible nor anything that drastic, Not a fan of this guys vocals. The song seems even more mellow with his vocals.
Final words: This set kicked my ass.
Extras
I didn't shed any tears for these not being on the list, but I do recall digging the Snail Mail song
#25. Wet Leg - Chaise Lounge
Raise your hand if you tanked it because of Muffins being buttered and getting the BIG 'D'. hmm.. prudes. This is a banger.
#24. Young The Giant - Wake Up
This song isn't anything to write home about, but they easily get a free ride on my list ,because this year was ...BAD.
#23. Kings Of Leon - Time In Disguise
I remember ragging on the intro when it first came out. Even made a shorter version for my listening pleasure, but in the end its the complete version of the song that kept me coming back for more. Easily one of their best.
#22. girl in red - I'll Call You Mine
"Serotonin" That was a female sung song I recall tanking. Not as low as Gayle tho. Nice pleasant song with nice female vocal tones. The overall tone of the song is very melodic.
#21. Jimmy Eat World - Something Loud
Did so so on my personal charts, but I love that it is loud and strong. As Gene Simmons would say "I Love It loud"
#20. Jack White - What's The Trick?
take out your crucifixes because thos twang twang noises are scary artn't they? The guitar works definitely prevail over his vocal delivery here. I hope this means "Taking Me Back" is in the Top 10.
#19. Wet Leg - Wet Dream
This is absoluetly my favorite song from this band. Love the claps in between the verses and her vocals go a lot higher on this one. I actually had to view 'Buffalo 66" after to see what the fuzz was about? Not my style of movie.
#18. Rüfüs Du Sol - On My Knees
I didn't find this particularly inresting. Has a decent Depeche Mode vibe, but not much more.
#17. Inhaler - Chear Up Baby
Great song. I wish they would have broken out with "When It Breaks", bause that's the one I lkike the most. Also I never knew Bono's last name was Hewson.
#16. Foals - Wake Me Up
Oh no F U C K ing way you all shut this bop out of the top 10. It even made my top 10 songs of 2022 and you know those mostly consisted of hair and Glam Meal.
#15. Maggie Rodgers - Want Want
I mean it' has a cool lyrical hook , but I want my money back. Foals was robbed.
#14. Foals- 2:am
This one is great too, but you don't bop your head as many times as you do whan listening to "Wake Up" .
#13. Spoon - The Hardest Cut
This one is cool. Anotherone I enjoyed charting myself.
#12. jack White - Take Me Back
What about this fierce guitar fest didn't compell you to just vip it in you top 10 from the monet you saw it on the list. Who's afriad of the big bad guitar?
#11. Death Cab For Cutie - Here To Forever
This here is one of thier ultimate best. Such a flow with the singing and instrumants.
I can't belive you all left me with only one top 10 song to play with. Granted it's the one that counts, but damn I picked an incredible set of songs for my top 10. What the actual F U C K guys.
#40. Coin - Chapstick
