Wow! This is a great album. I enjoyed every song. I like how it's more an 80s song but still feels modern

I've said it in the various single threads, but I'm really digging whatever 70's soft-rock Doobie Brothers/Bee Gees vibe they're going for this era. I think it's a sound they could definitely thrive in and it's also not a sound a lot of artists are pillaging at the moment. So it feels fresh.
That being said, I don't think they're fully delivering here. So many of these songs feel like sketches and unfinished. The production is a tad too plastic/polished, they really needed to go more organic and unfussy for this to work. And the vocals are just plain off for me in quite a few places.
Not a total miss. Love the direction, but the execution is lacking for me.

This song has 12 tracks but barely eeks out 30 minutes of actual listening time. The Fuck?.

Projected to debut top-5 with 51-58k SPS. What a difference four years can make.
Jonas Brothers: #5, 69k.
A Little Bit Longer: #1, 525k.
Lines, Vines and Trying Times: #1, 247k.
Happiness Begins: #1, 414k SPS (357k sales).

At least it looks like they still have the clout where it counts. Those touring numbers. They’re doing stadiums and huge arenas. For whatever is lacking in sales and streams, somehow they’re pulling a crowd. I think they can go into the legacy artist category now. It’s been a good 15 years and they peaked late instead of early because the timing was perfectly executed for their comeback.
I’m enjoying The Album, but Happiness Begins was better — even while wearing the badge of being more generic and engineered for radio.

I also realized HB had a ticket bundle when those still counted towards the charts so I’m sure the drop wouldn’t have been as steep without it. I agree with your sentiments all the same.

I can’t stop listening. Some songs are way too short, but most are bops! You can really hear Jon Bellion’s influence and I love it!

First and foremost, why couldn’t they come up with an actual title rather than calling it The Album. There’s nothing definitive about this album to earn the title of The Album.

If aliens came to earth, discovered music and wanted to know who the Jonas Brothers were, this is “The Album” they’d give to them. I’m paraphrasing.

Their latest album is great! There’s nothing on it that I think I dislike. The Doobie Brothers 80’s sound of a lot of the tracks are a great fit for them. My favorite tracks are “Summer Baby” which I think has a timeless sound to it and wish it did better. I’m really into “Sail Away, Waffle House and Celebrate” at the moment as well. Again there’s nothing that I would really skip though. Great album!!
