Prayer circle everyone let's pray Running Out Of Time by Paramore was popular enough to chart this week (it wasn't) It'll be a hit, even if it takes a while to get there. It's too good of a song not to be EDIT: I also think This Is Why has a chance to go somewhere too

I think they were asking more of why Chloe (or any artist for that matter) is still collaboration with Chris Brown, regardless of commercial reasons. They mentioned that her audience wouldn’t approve and that other artists (for example, the Weeknd) would be more commercially viable, when neither are true. Chloe’s audience is the Urban/Rhythmic audience and Chris Brown is easily one of, if not the most successful male R&B singles artist there these past few years. I understand the commercial aspect and the song will probably do well because of him. That doesn't negate why anyone is still working with Chris Brown

here comes my take
1. Chris Brown is problematic in serious ways and shows little to no signs of character growth, even after years. Artists just shouldn't be collabing with him 2. There's more talented, more underrated artists that deserve collabs more than him

I mean I'm just saying if Miguel (Primetime, Show Me Love, DEATH FANTASY, Good Intentions, Lost In Your Light) or Channel Tres (HMU for a Good Time, Attention Whore, Impact, Lavender, Fever Dreamer) became the mainstream go to guys for collabs over Chris Brown the world would be a much better place.
Cause this Chris Brown revival is undeserved.

I meant if they were gonna choose a commercially viable artist to attempt at a hit, they could've grabbed the many other huge R&B males. The Weeknd is more pop now but he still has an R&B background and is one of the most successful in that genre, along with artists like Usher, Khalid, Miguel, etc. I understand Chris Brown is huge, but picking him seems like the wrong choice overall. She could've also, I don't know, collabed with another female artist. These R&B girls seem to be allergic to each other because there's a shocking lack of R&B girl collabs.

Total Streams for Boy's a liar: 17,281,274 Total Streams for Until I Found You: 5,171,065
Kill Bill stays on top for a sixth total week, stabilizing with only a drop of 1% but ironically was not the top track this week. The big story of course is Boy's a liar Pt. 2, continuing it's momentum by climbing up to #2, shooting up massively by 107% and with both Boy's a liar songs combined, would be the top song this week. And in terms of other movements in the Top 10, we had the biggest new song of the week as Love You Anyway debuts at #10.
But that wasn't the biggest story this week as thanks to her (underwhelming) Superbowl performance, Rihanna managed to have 19 of her songs re-enter. This meant though that we didn't get as many gains as we did last week.
Notable Gains: In Ha Mood - 20% Slut Me Out - 20% Players - 19% The Spins - 18% Tennessee Whiskey - 17% ceilings - 15% Dark Red - 13% AMG - 12%
Finally with its respective streams combined, Until I Found You would be #19.

Why do y'all assume Chloe will only collaborate with Chris Brown in her upcoming album?

When did we say we're assuming that's her only collab?

kcdawg13's comment: "if they were gonna choose a commercially viable artist to attempt at a hit, they could've grabbed the many other huge R&B males." and "She could've also, I don't know, collabed with another female artist"
Or maybe I get the tone wrong.

They were on a song together just last year. Otherwise, might as well stop listening to R&B music because the majority of the industry is supporting him and has for over a decade.

So people just wake up and decide to be mad about something? Chris will never be canceled and he’ll continue to collaborate with R&B artists as long as the check is right. People are mad but not streaming or buying anything from Chloe's solo stuff anyway. Make it make sense.

Honestly i would agree with the whole not collaborating with Chris Brown thing, but he’s been getting bigger hits recently compared to his early to mid 2010s run, this time added with longevity (No Guidance, Go Crazy, Under The Influence). So if he’s still big and has proven it, then some artists and labels would also think that and would wanna collab with him regardless of the opinions critics and the GP have towards him. He has somewhat of a loyal fan base as well, which will even go as far as to actually listen to all of his like 50+ song albums, so there’s no doubt they would be there if he was featured on a song with someone. I really wish that these artists would get someone else on their songs but getting CB has been easy and proven to (unfortunately) successfully work most of the time.

I understand the commercial aspect and the song will probably do well because of him. That doesn't negate why anyone is still working with Chris Brown But nearly every major / charting successful woman-identified R&B artist has still not only worked with him but has released singles with him . . . at this point the “uproar” when another does, it’s just trolling. Trolling?? Lmao The exact opposite of what you're saying is true. Almost EVERY major female R&B artist who has been popular in the same time as Chris Brown has been able to do so without working with him, or at least by not releasing any majorly promoted singles with him that have been successful, from Beyonce to Alicia Keys, SZA, Summer Walker, H.E.R., etc. You're making it seem like a Chris Brown collab is a necessary requisite to achieving or maintaining success, when it's anything but.

Jack Harlow, Lil Wayne, Andersen Paak, Metro Boomin, Gunna, Lil Baby, etc have all released collaborations with Chris Brown in the past year alone. They received zero backlash, questioning, etc. Nobody cared.
I know you all think you are being on a moral high ground by calling it out when Chloe does it, but it seems ironically sexist and hypocritical just bashing on a select female artist for doing something you have no issue with male artists doing nor feel the need to bring it up.
Why did none of those other artists face any strong criticism when they did the same thing? None of you were 'disappointed', questioning why they chose him of all male R&B artists, and suddenly waiting for their album to flop.
Hundreds of artists have collaborated with him the past decade at this point, it seems like the issue would be a general industry-wide thing then singling out specific artists. Again though this comes down to ethics of cancelling artists -- it will never be universally agreed upon what and which artists deserved to be cancelled and whether it's morally right to listen to their music. Trying to dictate on why anyone else would continue supporting, collaborating with, listening to, etc is just going to go nowhere.

My personal take is it’s obviously different when Women (especially black women) collab with him than men. Because a lot of the reasons ME personally don’t fuck with him is because of his NUMEROUS acts of violence and hatred towards women.
I don’t like when Men collab with him either but I’ve given up expecting men in music, especially fellow straight Hiphop/Urban men, to give a damn about doing anything about someone that has on multiple occasions showed his ass.
Obviously he’s “uncancelable” at this point, his d-riders will never give it up and neither will the audience. I’ll just personally continue to not stream songs he’s on and be content with that 🤷🏾♂️

My personal take is it’s obviously different when Women (especially black women) collab with him than men. Because a lot of the reasons ME personally don’t f**k with him is because of his NUMEROUS acts of violence and hatred towards women. I don’t like when Men collab with him either but I’ve given up expecting men in music, especially fellow straight Hiphop/Urban men, to give a damn about doing anything about someone that has on multiple occasions showed his ass. I’ll just personally continue to not stream songs he’s on and be content with that 🤷🏾♂️ But this also goes beyond Chris Brown to be frank. Katy got large backlash for collaborating with Migos during 2017, Kim Petras/Doja Cat get large backlash for collaborating with Dr. Luke, etc. Usually when a person in the music industry is deemed largely problematic or cancelled it tends to be female artists that get a strong backlash for working with them while male artists get largely unquestioned. Ofcourse I get that Pop-culture tends to largely stan female artists so naturally they'll generate more discussion and reaction period with those crowds (and also many fans hold them to 'higher standards'), but in a way it just seems like further enabling traditional sexism. Blaming and holding only women accountable for not following some standard of ethics however when a male artist does similar people look the other way or shrug it off as 'well that's boys being boys' (essentially what you gestured when 'giving up on expecting men to make a right choice' even if unintentionally). I also think that it really is hard to dictate who should/shouldn't be listened to, collaborated with, etc because at some point its just unreasonable to uphold and veers into selectiveness and being hypocritical. There is (unfortunately) an endless list of people in the music industry who have done problematic things or worked with people who have, so at some point the picking and choosing at who should be publicly shamed gets ridiculous. There are certain names I will not listen to or support anything with their involvement, but I know that's my personal selection and my ethical view that isn't going to be universally shared.

Know your fan base. The fan base of those people don’t give a shit about what Chris did. The Chloe’s fan base (or other rnb/pop girlies) do give a damn about what Chris has done. Know the demo of your core audience.
Is it a female vs male thing? Sure. But in the sense that men don’t give a fuck about violence against women. However, enough women do. And those women make up Chloe’s fanbase.

So we're going to pretend Chloe's fanbase has not enjoyed music from Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Jack Harlow, Lil Baby, Anderson Paak, Brandy, Usher, Jhene Aiko, Summer Walker, H.E.R., etc. All who have also collaborated with Chris Brown post-2009? We're going to pretend all of them were called out by these fans too? Lol. Again -- the selective outrage in this instance is interesting to see.

And those women make up Chloe’s fanbase. this is exactly it. Chlöe's fanbase, safe to say, is mainly a slice of the Bey Hive pie. these people are loud, yes, but also don't like cheaters, abusers, homophobes. with that in mind, it's not exactly surprising that the Nicki Minaj fans are the main couple people coming to Chris Brown's defense on this forum. :giggle: Chlöe's disappointing her CORE fan base. people easily ignore when an artist they sometimes throw on a playlist collaborates with an asshole or does something problematic, we keep seeing this play out time and time again. sometimes they won't even know who the feature is on the song. some of the people complaining now probably didn't care when Chris Brown sang the hook on Nicki Minaj's "Only" or featured on an album cut on Ella Mai's debut album. but Barbz have never been shy about supporting the most vile and disturbing people, and Ella Mai's 100 core fans at the time probably weren't inconvenienced enough to cause an uproar. choosing to feature Chris Brown on the lead single (?) of your debut album is a very weird, out of pocket choice for any young woman today. make him the center of your introductory work? quite baffling.

Those male artist fanbases simply don’t have the standards a lot of female artists fans do especially fans of a Beyoncé intern.
