Cuff It has more chart points than Lavender Haze.

'Lavender Haze' only has 2 formats going for it (Pop/HAC), with minimal support from AC/Rhythmic. 'Cuff It' meanwhile, already went to #1 on Rhythmic/Urban/R&B and continues to get support from all three of those formats while still sitting top 20 at HAC and top 10 at Pop. There's your difference, Bey has a big airplay advantage on Taylor.

A LOT of people said SYT remix was unnecessary too, but it reached #1, was a YE #2 and it has 1B+ streams on Spotify.

I like the remix, nothing groundbreaking, but understandable since I think they only want a new peak (#1 possibly) and more longevity. Also, DFY got its chance to shine (finally on Spotify's TTH) and it's a good thing for Ari to be in music convos, since her last song was SYT and I don't think we'll get AG7 this year.

DFY rmx is now #44 on AM (original is #13) and #2 on iTunes

I like the remix, nothing groundbreaking, but understandable since I think they only want a new peak (#1 possibly) and more longevity. Also, DFY got its chance to shine (finally on Spotify's TTH) and it's a good thing for Ari to be in music convos, since her last song was SYT and I don't think we'll get AG7 this year.

DFY rmx is now #44 on AM (original is #13) and #2 on iTunes

The original SYT could’ve landed around the lower top 20-25 of the YE and just would’ve probably just peaked at #4, which was the position that it went to after his Superbowl half time. It didn’t show any signs of going any further prior to the Ariana remix 3 months later, although it was stable between that period so that is the reason why it would’ve still been high. Just of course not to the extreme that the Ari remix gave to that song.

Now as for DFY, the original was probably set to be the top 20 anyways due to it being here and high enough already since the beginning of the year. But now this remix will probably propel it to finish in the top 10, possibly even top 5 if there is longevity and if it becomes another SYT type of run.

Good to hear Ari again. I do admire her really focusing on her acting craft. Must've finally had some good downtime. Plus, they have a few collaborations over the years.

Here's my review: I don't hate the remix but I don't love it either, but I am also one of the only Weeknd fans who doesn't really like DFY that much. His musical output has gotten so much stronger since Starboy, especially with his last two eras that I find both Starboy and BBTM pretty mid now. Anyways, DFY's remix would've worked much better with an R&B vocalist, for example SZA. Ariana's sweet pop voice just doesn't really fit with the production, Abel should've saved her for the next album instead. I also don't like how she has no presence on the the final chorus, Abel you got one of the greatest vocalist of my generation and you didn't let her wail on the final chorus.

Sidenote, I also hate how the main artist on these cash in remixes don't re-record their vocals, it's so lazy. They just threw Ariana's vocals atop Abel's vocals from 7 years ago, he could at least throw in a couple new adlibs or something. But it's just a quick remix for chart performance, so I didn't expect much anyways.

Ironically, "Starboy" was my favorite Weeknd album and I feel like his output has gotten weaker with the recent two.


The remix is rather useless. I tend to mainly like a remix when a full effort is put in and the production/arrangement is entirely changed. Just phoning in a guest rapper/singer is beyond overdone.

i like both The Weeknd and Ariana and think both the original and the remix are good.however i am not a fan of adding another singer to a previous song that has charted awhile .the only reason they are done is to give the song a new chart peak.

I reiterate, I was exactly right. It's just there, nothing special about it. I think they could have done more with it, especially integrating her voice better with the chorus, but they didn't do it, and honestly I don't expect much of a long-lasting chart boost.

SYT remix was done really well to make it seem like it was a duet from the start. Even if some don’t think of it that way, their chemistry on that song was still there. As for DFY it just feels like a random remix of a single with nothing to add on to what made the original work, but in this case there still is at least something i guess. Its kind of a mix in between how Rosalia sounded on the Blinding Lights remix, and how Doja Cat sounded on the remix of In Your Eyes.
