A fairly big drop in its second day on spotify. If it keeps falling I don't think it'll overtake "Flowers". The remix has fallen below "Flowers" on apple music, although it's still likely ahead combined.

I love Ari and she has an amazing catalog of songs that deserved so much better, but her number one hits are (with the exception of Thank U, Next) so lacking

Ngl it's gonna be a little embarrassing if the song doesn't go #1, DFY was already a big hit. #6 on the Hot 100 and #1 on pop, so pushing out this phoned in remix for a #1 and not getting it looks a little bad on both Abel and Ari. If it goes #1, it did it's job. Guess we'll see.

Ariana Grande's songs 7 Rings & Positions were both huge mega hits that are still getting played after their initial release which shows they have impact. I admit the Die For You remix feels a little phoned in but it's like that with most artists remixes in this current era of music. Into You is a song that from Ariana that should of did better back in 2016 since it is one of her best songs.

Radio will credit the remix but that does not mean the remix is being played more than the original, it's just credited because it's getting the most sales. Radio will also credit the WETTER Remix of CUFF IT.

I remember Billboard clarified this back in 2019 when Billy Ray Cyrus joined on the Old Town Road remix. Artist credit only depends on Sales and Streaming points, so Ariana is near certain to be credited this week.

Boy's A Liar Pt 2 was #1 on US TikTok for the 2nd straight week.
My Way by Frank Sinatra is at #2. I guess now that we've been through the '80s, TikTok is now going back even further for old songs. This one is being used as part of another AI drawing trend.
PAINTING PICTURES by Superstar Pride debuts at #3. The song seems to have also plateaued in the Top 10 on Spotify & AM over the last few days, so I would expect it to likely peak this week.

Hmm the article you linked says "Now credited on “Road,” as streaming and sales for the week were driven most heavily by the new Cyrus remix, he scores his first Hot 100 No. 1." I think that was just saying that since OTR was fueled almost entirely by streaming and sales (its airplay was only at #33), it was enough that the Cyrus version had more total points.

I think they factor total points. I think Ariana will probably have enough to get credited, as I imagine their version will be something like 70% of streams and sales, so even if the Ari version is only like 10% of the airplay, it may still balance out in her favor. Also this seems like the kind of thing that Billboard would fudge the rules for tbh, since it's more interesting press for them if they can say Ariana is on top.
