I think Carrie has *finally* found her a streaming and radio hit that naturally connects. They need to release this stat! No waiting five months for HMH to peak. It actually crushes me that they most likely won’t release this absolute bop and smash waiting to happen. It won’t be the same releasing it after HMH (kinda doubtful?).
First day Spotify numbers: (copied from Carriefans)
Ghost Story - 301k (clear channel deal) Out of That Truck - 214K Pink Champagne - 180k Denim & Rhinestones - 128k She Don’t Know - 107k Crazy Angels - 98k Rest of D&R Tracks - 35-55k

I could see them pushing on with HMH for another 3 months, and possibly release this whenever the deluxe edition comes out (if they do in fact do that.)
Add me to the club of wanting them to go ahead and push this now. It’s connecting well and I feel like a lot of people outside of the core fanbase are on board with it as well (a lot of whom weren’t with D&R.) let’s get this going.

This is why I think this is already showing to be a potential streaming hit and radio hit. It seems like everyone likes it. It would just do great all around on radio IMO

I've been listening to "Truck" quite a bit, I really love its chorus!

After a couple of days of repeat listens I like this more than I did initially. It would make a strong single, although I still think “Burn” would be a better option. Interested to see what they do with this as this is new territory for Carrie.

For me, I'd rush this out as a single asap and tack it and maybe a couple other songs onto D&R as a deluxe edition re-release in a couple months, then follow it up with "Burn" as a fourth and final single.

Have we ever seen an album go for a bonus track and then back to the original album? I feel like if the label goes with this and there is another single they would just go with what's newer.

Exactly what I was thinking. The way this song is connecting, I think it has a lot of potential to reignite interest in this era in a way that wouldn't necessarily happen by releasing any of the original tracks next....but "Burn" definitely still has potential, and might benefit by being an even bigger hit than it otherwise would have been if it comes after "Truck" has reignited interest in the era!

I think them pushing this now and saving “Burn” for a fourth single would be a good option. The upside if they dropped HMH and started working this is that it would still leave plenty of time to release a fourth single.
However, watch her have another song leftover that gets tacked on the deluxe (assuming one is coming) that we want as a single as well lol.

In fact, “Crazy Angels” should’ve been the lead. It’s something very FUN which is what Carrie & Co. really sold being the main thing about this album, and also serves as a nice little bridge between My Savior and this era. ( You know where to find me on a Sunday morning/But tonight I come with a whiskey warning.) “Ghost Story” ultimately tested quite well and is a great song in its own right, but as a single it’s very been-there-done-that for CU, so I would’ve just left it alone as an album track or, at best, one of the buzz singles leading up to the album’s release. “Pink Champagne” should’ve already been a single by now, especially as a way to hype up the tour, and I feel like it’d be doing much better than what HMH is by now. That would’ve allowed easier access for quickly getting OOTT out there, and then giving “Burn” the final single treatment. So not that she needs it much anymore, but I feel like this could’ve been a great era radio-wise and overall: 1. Crazy Angels (radio) 1a: Denim & Rhinestones (promo release to coincide with album announcement) 1b: She Don’t Know (promo single) 2. Pink Champagne (radio) 3. Out of That Truck (radio) 4. Burn (radio) This list of course leaves off a couple other greats like “Velvet Heartbreak” and doesn’t take into consideration how radio-friendly any other deluxe tracks could be, but it also pushes thematic boundaries in her singles catalog and expands that palette into new heights.

This is a major hit. This sounds like something Lauren Alaina should've snagged and released... something about the inflections here just remind me of her. I love HMH so I don't want to see it pulled, but I want to see Carrie with a song that flies up the chart more. So, on board if they do so.

I agree with all who say this is a major hit and should be sent to radio ASAP. It’s connecting very well with the GP (not just Carrie fans!) and could save this era. This could be Carrie’s biggest solo hit in years; it’s just so incredibly radio friendly. But is there any real chance they even pull HMH? It seems unlikely 🥲😢

They need to go ahead and release this asap. In its first week, OOTT received over 1M plays on Spotify. Nearly half of the tracks from D&R have that many plays (or less...) and that album has been out almost a year. It's clear this is connecting and streaming very well.

Need to move this out of the 'Country News and Non-singles discussion' on to the main Country forums as this is now confirmed a radio single.

No impact date listed but sent to country radio by Capitol Nashville this morning.
Standard radio liners also part of the Play MPE release.

This could be the song to get Carrie another solo #1. It’s definitely connecting much better than a lot of her stuff in terms of streaming which should help it at radio.

Wow, that was fast!! I am excited, I am ecstatic! This was absolutely the right decision. This can easily be Carrie’s first solo #1 in 7 years.

I assume you are referring to Billboard since she has had a couple solo #1s on Mediabase since then ("Dirty Laundry" and "Southbound"). I do think this is the right choice and should bring her back into the Top 5 (I am not assuming #1 especially on Billboard given how rare those feel like lately).

Yes I did mean on both charts, even though I appreciated the mediabase #1s as well. I am very hopeful this makes it to #1 on both charts, if not one. 😄

I think this is her best single choice since she moved to UMG. Here's hoping radio converts it rather fast.
I remember HMH moved up the chart rather quickly in the early stages. I want to say it made it to the cusp of the top 20 within about three months after impacting, until it hit the wall. Hope this sees those same fast conversions, but this time all the way up the chart.
This just feels a lot more "Carrie" than some of her recent releases, if that makes sense. Feel like a lot of fans have missed this type of contemporary country sound from her.

Still sad "Hate My Heart" died early and became her lowest peaking single as I adored it. But this is the right call and truly does feel like a hit.

And when this becomes her first solo #1 on Billboard in nearly a decade…then what?

All I can say is THANK GOD! UMG finally listening to the fans and seeing that this is a hit in the making! Anyone know when it’s impacting radio?

Ahhh finally!
Looking forward to seeing if this one does anything. It isn’t a huge favorite of mine, but it seems to be connecting well with the general audiences it has reached thus far.
Hoping this means a deluxe D&R or something new soon!

Couldn't be happier that Carrie/her team is finally doing something right with regards to a single choice again. This is the first time in many years that a single of hers has connected in a big way, and it sounds like a total home run smash for radio. Win-win.

I do think at the very least this should get her back to a Mediabase #1 (Before people come for me about me not including Billboard, the Billboard #1 feels rarer than ever especially with Wallen, Combs, dominating the charts). Happy her team is making a smart choice and not just waiting around for the rumored Cojo duet.
