Instant-grat from forthcoming album chemistry. Out May 19, according to Pulse's favorite Clarko plug Censor in the album thread.

So excited and curious to hear the studio version of this. Live it was great but not a standout for me the way "down to you," "rock hudson," "skip this part," "i hate love" and "red flag collector" in particular were.

So all the people who kept comparing this to CRJ were on the money, wow. Written by: Carly Rae Jepsen, Jesse Shatkin, Kelly Clarkson Belasco live performance premiering simultaneously. Cackling at you being forced to acknowledge the greatness that is CRJ! (In seriousness, if this really does have CRJ's style on it, that would explain why it didn't stand out to you compared to most of the rest of the album.)

*gasping for air*
I haven't listened to any of the clips yet, and won't until I can hear it full, but WOW I was not expecting a Carly co-write. I'm.... we are not ready.

Spotify says it's solely produced by Jesse Shatkin but somehow, David Guetta is co-credited as a lead artist. Censor posted that there's a Guetta remix coming out next week so it might be a glitch but I'm confused? Attachments:

I love this and I think David Guetta will make it sound even better though!

I'm not the kind of person that needs bops from Kelly, her voice can sell anything. But point blank, "me" and "mine" just weren't it. Both were lacking in various ways. I think it's a smart move to release something more immediate. This is very catchy and I like it on first listen. And yeah, you can definitely hear Carly in this. There's also some fresh production touches in here.
Funny enough, on my first listen, I wasn't sure this would translate well live. And then of course she immediately proves me wrong with her live performance (also Allison Iraheta is one of her bg singers!?)

I can hear Carly all over this and the way her style blends with Kelly’s voice is just delicious.

WHY IS DAVID GUETTA CREDITED ON THIS?! Kelly, I love you so much but why did you have to work with him?! Couldn't you have gone with someone more fresh, creative, and artistic like Honey Dijon, Nita Aviance, or Terry Hunter?
I do like the song though. The vocals are INSANE!

I didn’t care for the M/M songs, but this was instant for me. Thanks Carly!

I hear the broken and beautiful comparison, but this is much better, and not cheesy like that song.
I don’t mind this, but I don’t necessarily love it.
Its a bop though, and those “feels” though. Woo!

Aw this is fun, sometimes even I forget how well suited her voice is for this kind of breezy synth-pop. I agree that "Catch My Breath" is a better comparison than "Broken & Beautiful," but I guess I see where people are coming from with the latter. Anyway, this is better than that.
I'm so glad they didn't lead with this though. The album is very eclectic sounding, but this is one I distinctly remember could have easily been on Piece by Piece, where most everything else felt like something that had to be for this album (same way "me" could have fit on MOL). Still, sonically but especially lyrically, it just isn't the general tone of the record and don't think it would have been an ideal introduction to the album. I'm still obsessed with "mine" and love that they released something so left-of-center, but when I have the full album I may end up cursing them for not starting with "down to you" or "rock hudson."
Live performance >>> she's so fucking good, and the production value on the video is great. I NEED them to release the entire thing as a fully developed special, and I need it now.

Oh, I really like this! Can definitely hear Carly on it but Kelly makes it her own. They should push this to pop.

Looks like Spotify teased the forthcoming remix from David Guetta already mentioned by Censor in the standalone release, so he should be only credited when his remix comes out next week.

This so fun and just the perfect kind of breezy pop for summer. My favorite of the three tracks released so far.

Love this! You can definitely tell Carly wrote it lol. Such a fun song. She actually didn’t. She seems to have written the music with Shatkin and they didn’t use it, and Kelly came in and wrote the lyrics and melody.

This is a bop! Perhaps Kelly can grab a moderate sized HAC/Pop hit with this over summer?

This is my least favorite of the three singles so far. While the melodies are okay, I find the production, especially in the chorus, very low tier Piece By Piece album track-esque. I'm still obsessed with "mine" and love that they released something so left-of-center, but when I have the full album I may end up cursing them for not starting with "down to you" or "rock hudson." This makes me so relieved and excited for the album! Cause so far we've mostly gotten songs that don't showcase that new sound she has been talking about. June 23rd can't come quickly enough!
