So excited for this! She's one of my favorites. Goldmine was fantastic and I've been patiently waiting for another album from her. The snippet she put up on her IG sounds like another winner.

This is another song she sang at stagecoach that is supposed to be on her album. She said this album is more country. This is so good. youtu.be/mwjYtKFQYi0

I hope this is a hit for her and she is allowed by her husband to reap the benefits of its success.

I’m surprised her husband allowed her to have a break from having children to release music!

If he wasn't a man, I would totally agree with you that he shouldn't be talking and instead be folding laundry and making dinner.

Cade seems to always be by her side for everything ranging from interviews, red carpets to award show performances. It’s one thing to be supportive but it seems like he’s trying to latch onto her & her success any way that he can. It might come across as “supportive” to some people, but a lot of us get a different vibe from him for various reasons.

However I’m unsure if her husband knows that she’s allowed to balance the two!

Yeah with the way Cade talks about Gabby Barrett on Social Media, it feels more possessive than supportive, it's one of the many reasons why I have never been a fan of her and won't be upset if her sophomore era flops. I know that sounds mean but between Cade, her vocals not being my cup of tea at all, and her fans on Pulse here (the ones that have since gotten banned), I am not a fan.

It’s not your life and they seem happy. This is a thread to discuss her music not her personal life. Her husband is her guitar player so of course he is going to be at events with her. I really don’t get why she gets people to want to post these kind of comments. It’s not your life.

I'll just jump in here before things get too off-topic. chloe6124 is correct that the purpose of this thread should be to discuss her music rather than taking jabs at her personal life. That being said, I haven't seen anything in here that is quite in violation of the rules yet. As Chloe also mentioned, her husband is a significant part of her music (both as a guitar player and as a self-inserted fixture in her social media presence), and people are going to have opinions about the way that his presence impacts her career. Cade has been known to post comments about Gabby on social media that feel skeezy to some, and sometimes that can absolutely be relevant to conversations about her career in the right context. Making comments about her personal life with the intent of baiting her fans into an argument would be against the rules! As well as derailing the thread with unrelated political rants, or speculation about her personal life that seems to be baseless or needlessly slanderous. But genuinely sharing opinions about the way that her husband fits into and impacts her career is fair game, especially because he goes out of his way to be so involved. As long as we remember to treat each other respectfully!
Edit: The main reason I haven't seen any rule violations yet is because the jokes that have been made are clearly picking fun about things that Cade himself has specifically said on social media about Gabby. It's nothing slanderous, it's literally his personality that he shares with the world. There is admittedly some gray area here with regards to what amount of talking about him is fine considering that Gabby should be the subject of the thread, so just please try not to bait each other into arguments and keep each other's humanity in mind

i think she’s zeroed in on the kind of artist she wants to be and that’s country with a strong CCM/Inspirational pocket. She got her start in the church so makes sense.

Gabby Barrett my favorite female artist since kellie pickler. I do want to touch on that for a minute. I sincerely hope after kellie recovers from her husbands suicide she records a album because music heals.
Now back to Gabby Barrett I believe from the snippet this song is pretty good. It’s a good sound for her and I believe she have a few #1s on this Album! Guys stop making music political

It's a good angle for her to go after, especially with Carrie Underwood seguing more into legacy territory lately. There's definitely a market for Gabby to corner and succeed with that sound. Still surprised they didn't try to push "Got Me" as a side single to the Christian radio format from her debut. She's also got great crossover potential for more CHR/HAC success too (still shocked they didn't try "The Good Ones" for crossover airplay) so I hope they continue to push her at multiple formats in the future with the right songs.

For sure though with the structure of her family life and values (which I’m not commenting on bc it’s none of my business lol), I don’t think she or Cade care for any more CHR/HAC success as that’s even more secular. Her jumping on Colton Dixon’s biggest CCM radio hit get like an introduction for her to CCM radio so wouldn’t be surprised to see a mixture on her next album again with a single getting a formal CCM push. I consistently forget she’s 23 and still has a lot of life to still live.

The production on this is a great step in the right direction. Personally thought the “Goldmine” production was too loud.
Overall it’s a pretty meh song to me. I think it would’ve fit Lauren Alaina better.

I like it! Simple, but not boring imo. Feels like a good lead single to try to get album #2 going. Hope it does well for her.

Some interesting production choices, but not bad.
(But is it bad i gagged hearing that guitar solo for Cade in the bridge?🤮)

I felt like this was super safe and uninspired. She hit a home run with her debut single so I don't see why she wouldn't swing for the fences again here with something that is actually interesting.
It's not that this is bad, it's just...there. It doesn't separate from her last single at all.

This has potential to be a hit but it just feels so safe. I do think she has potential to be a star in the genre but this feels like a song that will make the Top 10 and be forgotten of within a year outside of music nerds and her stans.

Half of y’all were speculating she was going to be the next Gretchen Wilson, and fall off after her debut success; and you wonder why she’s releasing something safe? lol.

It’s better that I thought I’d be, actually. Some parts remind me of Lauren Alaina’s The Road Less Traveled

I hope and The Good Ones were like once in the life time songs. Sometimes artists just hit with special songs.
I will say this seems boring. Which makes me sad. This typically happens with female artists. This sounds like Keith urban somebody like you. I don’t think this will do much. She did a song at stagecoach called cowboy back. It’s much better then this song. I would of went with that one. This song is just meh. Sometimes songs grow on me the more I listen so maybe this will evolve for me over time.

Production was good, but that's literally all I liked. I feel like she could have came back to the music scene with a fresh sound and message, something undeniable. I don't see anything truly special about Gabby musically. She keeps making these cheesy life songs, nothing so far with genuine substance, IMO.

Surprised to see some lukewarm responses, as I really think that this is a strong lead single. The chorus melody sounds like a smash, and the production is also quite strong, including the guitar solo bridge.
