I think that this song is a snap shot of gabby life. Of where she’s at right now and personally I like it a lot. Gabby held to such a higher level I feel do to obvious criticism revolving her husband. But I don’t get into all that I focus on the music. And musically I think this hits top 10 maybe around 8 or so then fizzle out. Single 2 needs to be a very strong one though.

This is really strong and Gabby continues to be one of my favorite female country stars. I found her voice overly nasally when she was on Idol but it sounds way better on record.
It also doesn’t hurt that I Hope and The Good Ones were two of the best country smashes in recent years.

Sounds pretty hitty to me. A little faceless, but with it being uptempo/positive I feel like its gonna work. Gabby has a great voice and I'd love to see her have a long career in the format

Did this have a radio deal? 77 adds.
Guess so. 46 on media base.

After a handful of listens, this is probably my least favorite single of her's so far, but her first four were literally all A+ for me and this is one is like... a B+/A-. Still good and sounds like a catchy little bop that should do well at radio, but I do agree with some of the previous comments that it feels just a tad pedestrian. It doesn't stand out in a big way for me the way some of her other singles have. That said, I like it and hope it does well and I simply CANNOT wait for the album to come out. Goldmine is one of my favorite female country debut records in recent history. Gabby's a mega-star in the making imo.

Here I am alone thinking this is her best single haha
To defend that position, I liked her first two more lyrically. And they had more uniqueness. However I always thought they were horrible produced, where here it’s much much better, and she sounds much better. This will age on me a lot better than anything from her debut.

The more I listen the more I am liking it. This typically happens with initial reactions for me.
The versus sounds just like Somebody like you.

Pulls in 27 additional adds this week and maintained mid 40s positioning on Mediabase, despite having experienced its 7th day hangover effect, and gaining well.
Definitely feels like radio is buying into this one. It’s way too early to predict peaks, but this feels like Gabby’s fastest start at radio yet.

Great music video and perfect for the song. This one just continues to grow on me, which I don't find surprising. Excited to see that all the early signs continue to point to this being another big smash for Gabby.

I’m very much enjoying this one. I’ve loved all of Gabby’s music, this one is just as catchy as her previous singles to me, maybe second to “the good ones” though

Another possible song title from her upcoming album is mentioned in this week's Billboard's Country Update. Not sure whether it's the same song previously teased in CCUSA.

She also said in a Bobby Bones interview that she wrote a song with Miranda Lambert from the forthcoming project. Said she was even trying to get Miranda to sing on it. Didn’t know if anyone had mentioned that.

All of her hits thus far have taken a literal year to peak, so this probably will have a long, slow climb, but I'd say it's pretty likely to still be a hit in the end.

"Cowboy Back" is another winner for me. Her sophomore record cannot get here soon enough imo.

"Cowboy Back" has hella annunciation issues, but I don't even care when I'm sitting there awash in that incredible fiddle! Damn! We NEED this type of arrangement to catch on!

Idk, that fiddle sounds like synthetic to me. Doesn't have the natural sound as in other songs like in the new Carly Pearce song. Also the theme is literally The Good Ones redux.

I mean, my point is simply that there is fiddle at all!! And it’s real; though definitely overproduced as all hell…this IS still Gabby Barrett that we’re talking about of course, lol 😆 But the fact that it exists, and even takes such a prominent role, is something that I would love to see radio get back to. Edit: Listening to it again, this fiddle sounds very much like it could have been directly influenced by Shania’s Come On Over album.

I didn't have any issues understanding the lyrics on "Cowboy Back," even though I know she's had some of that in the past (the chorus of "Footprints on the Moon," i.e.) and I think the fiddle on this sounds fantastic. Very Shania-esque to my ears as well as bboat11 said.

I have to be honest, I have no idea what she is saying here, it sounds like she is drunk and slurring. I didn’t look up the words so I honestly still have no idea.
That said, the production is amazing. This is better than Glory Days even if I don’t know the words.

Kind of upset how this was handled. Don’t think it was the best first single choice. Cowboy Back probably would have connected more on streaming/ sales. This is virtually doing nothing

No clue what she’s singing at many parts 😂 After listening with the lyrics, I'm into the song. Love the production, it's fun and interesting, giving Shania. I really would go back in and re-record those vocals for the sake of pronunciation though.

Praying this becomes a hit but I’m afraid it won’t go much further unless she jumpstarts it with a cma performance or something. And she doesn’t appear to be on the performing roster…

Praying this becomes a hit but I’m afraid it won’t go much further unless she jumpstarts it with a cma performance or something. And she doesn’t appear to be on the performing roster… Eh, this one seems to be doing just fine, honestly. She has 3 major country hits under her belt thus far, and 2/3 of them took over 50 weeks to peak at/close to #1 ("I Hope" was her fastest climb and it still took about 40 weeks), so this one being just outside the top 30 bouncing around at the 20-week mark isn't particularly surprising or alarming, especially when you compare her performance to other songs around her on the charts as well. She's currently been in similar company to the current singles from Carly Pearce and Carrie Underwood, but "Glory Days" is currently looking at least a little stronger than those two are lately. Parker McCollum and Brian Kelley are also just a few positions higher than her with 1 and 2 extra chart weeks for their singles. Nothing really seems to point to this one being a flop thus far. It definitely isn't looking like a ground-breaking smash right now, but it'll likely end up a modest hit by late next spring.
