I love this, obviously I’m not expecting it to debut at #1 but this is a really cohesive album. Come Back to Me is cover of the Keith Urban Fuse track

I'm loving this album. It sounds different than her other albums, but at the same time, it also feels like a natural progression of her work. Early standouts for me are "Dear Insecurity", "Northwest" and "She Smoked In The House", but there isn't a weak link on there.

I gave this a listen over the last couple days and the first half definitely held up strong! I need to give it another listen because I wasn’t paying as much attention to the last few songs, but there’s some great stuff here for sure!

Big step up for me over her last project which felt a bit weaker than I would've expected coming off the high that was Big Day in a Small Town. I'm at the point now where I know she'll never top her sophomore record, but this one is at least a pendulum swing back into a better direction for her. Solid set of songs here.

“Dear Insecurity” is Grammy Song of the Year nomination-worthy.

Yes I spun this a few times now and it’s such an improvement from her last album. Not that it was bad, but felt not like her. In someways I like certain aspects of this album better than “Big Day”, but that remains her best album. It’s real close race though for me, even with “12 Stories” almost up there too. Very consistently great. I will say this may be the best production I’ve heard Brandi do for another artist. I love the work she’s done with others but it tends to feel like she just has them record vocals for a Brandi Carlisle album and call it a day haha This one actually feels like Brandy Clark, like Carlisle brought out a sound from her and didn’t impose one. If that makes sense.

Interesting to hear the comparisons to her last album. Outlier here, but Your Life Is A Record is one of my favourite albums ever. For me it’s up there with the greats. But this could have something to do with when it came out ( just before the onset of the pandemic and I listened to it over and over, plus it preceded her interview show).
Not to take away from the new album, because it’s phenomenal, but nothing will ever top Your Life Is A Record for me.
