47. Lean Back - Terror SquadFormed in The Bronx, Terror Squad originally consisted of Fat Joe, Big Pun, Cuban Link, Triple Seis, Propsect, and Armageddon. After the death of Big Pun in 2000, Cuban Link and Triple Seis left the group and were later replaced with Tony Sunshine and Remy Ma. Their biggest hit came in 2004 with the release of Lean Back. It topped the rap, R&B, and Hot 100 charts, and was Billboard's top rap single for the year. I always find it funny how Fat Joe can hardly even Lean Back in the music video.

Pt. 2 was a good jam, but Part 1 just hits differently for me. That one was the most memorable for me in my early teens.
Part 1. >>>>

Surprised this made it so far but not complaining. I remember this songs rare chart run in 2002-2003 on billboard.

Gimme The Light was a big hit at my high school. Majority of kids had a Caribbean background.

Both versions to “I Need A Girl” have their own vibe, Part I is sentimental whereas Part II feels like a night in LA or Miami. Love them both equally.

50. Lights, Camera, Action! - Mr. Cheeks: This is a really fun jam to kick off the Top 50! I ranked this at #60 and I do really like it though it's not a huge standout favorite. I do really like the beat and feel of this jam. But it's nice seeing this song not get any Bottom 20 rankings amongst us. This having the 18th lowest SD makes sense. 49. What'chu Like - Da Brat feat. Tyrese: Aww I ranked this at #30 so aaww sad to see this showing up. I really like/love this song. This is a real cool and smooth jam and I liked seeing this playful flirty side of Da Brat here. A fun jam that I wish could have been a little higher. This was my favorite from her of the 2000s so I'm glad this is here. Omggg I didn't know Da Brat gave birth this month. Wonder why I didn't hear about it (though I was aware of her pregnancy). 48. I Need a Girl (Part 2) - P. Diddy: This is a really cool and smooth jam that I really like enough to rank it at #51. But ugh nooo, I was just 3 spots off from a perfect ranking. Gahhh am I ever gonna get a perfect ranking? I do much prefer "Part 1" with Usher & Loon, but this is still good. 47. Lean Back - Terror Squad: Ugh nooo, so sad to see this show up. "Lean Back" is SUCH a jam! And a jam that I was so obsessed with this... and heck still have moments of being obsessed with this when I listen to this. So yeah I do love this and love it enough to rank it at #15. I just love the beat and vibe of this - and Fat Joe and Remy Ma's rapping on here. I'm glad to see this making it through to the top half but ah still wish it could have made it further up. Darn this song was sooo close to having no Bottom 20 ranks. 46. Gimme The Light - Sean Paul: Aww nooo, another song I love and am sad to see show up this soon. This is such a fun jam that I really like/love enough to rank it at #24, so yeah another song I wish was higher. With that said, regarding Sean Paul, I do really love and much prefer "Get Busy" and "Temperature." Both of those very likely would have been in my Top 10 on this list. Very happy to see 5 Top 30 rankings for this.

45. Can't Deny It - Fabolous feat. Nate DoggBorn and raised in Brooklyn, John Jackson started out under the name Fabolous Sport before shortening it to Fabolous. After rapping live on DJ Clue's show on Hot 97, he was signed to Desert Storm Records. His debut single, "Can't Deny It", was released in 2001. Featuring Nate Dogg and uncredited vocals by Lil Mo, it peaked at #11 on the rap chart, #13 on the R&B chart, and #25 on the Hot 100. Fabolous started his own label, Street Family Records, in 2006. Ja Rule pretty much ruins every song he's on; he's just such a bad artist. "It's Murda" is by far his best song, and it's mostly because of Jay-Z, DMX, and the beat.

42. Is That Your Chick (The Lost Verses) - Memphis Bleek feat. Jay-Z, Twista & Missy ElliottBorn in Brooklyn, Malik Cox got his start as a protégé of Jay-Z, and was one of the first artists to sign with Jay's Roc-A-Fella label. His 2000 single "Is That Your Chick (The Lost Verses)" features Jay, Twista, and Missy Elliott. It peaked at #7 on the rap chart and #18 on the R&B chart. The original version appeared on the European version of Jay's album Vol. 3...Life And Times Of S. Carter with the title "Is That Your Bitch". Live Your Life and Always On Time....WHAT?! I can't imagine a Rihanna feature and a pop/hip-hop STAPLE being out this early. Unreal. Some of the songs still in are SHOCKING.

45. Can't Deny It - Fabolous feat. Nate Dogg: Oooh Fabolous' debut single! I did love this song and think this was such a jam from him! I loved this enough to rank it at #32. Fabolous really had so many great jams in the 2000s. I would have been happy to see any of "Young'n (Holla Back)," "Can't Let You Go," "Into You" or "Make Me Better" on this list as I would have ranked all of those pretty highly.
44. Live Your Life - T.I. feat. Rihanna: Ughh nooo, I wasn't expecting this to show up so soon. Ugh I LOVE this song, so much so that I ranked this at #12. I really wish this could have ranked higher. This was such a great collabo and great jam from T.I. & Rihanna. T.I. is another artist who had so many great jams in the 2000s. So many of his songs I would have loved and been happy seeing on here, especially "Whatever You Like" or "Why You Wanna," amongst some others. Very pleased to see this song not have any Bottom 20 rankings.
43. Always On Time - Ja Rule feat. Ashanti: Ughh noo, this is suuchh a terrible set for me. Omggg noooo, NOT my #4 going now. :'( Ugh I LOVE this song so much. It's such a classic and one of my very favorites of 2001/2002. Ja Rule & Ashanti had the JAMS together and never missed with their collaborations, and this song was my favorite collabo of theirs. I love what both Ja and Ashanti bring to the song... and yeah just a big favorite for me. I know Ja Rule is polarizing here so I'm not surprised this didn't rank too high and it having the 18th highest SD But I'm glad it made it to the Top 50, at least. Also YAYY for 🇯🇲 lucy88 🇯🇲 ranking this in the Top 5!
42. Is That Your Chick (The Lost Verses) - Memphis Bleek feat. Jay-Z, Twista & Missy Elliott: This is a really cool and fun jam. This was never a huge favorite of mine when it was out but I always liked it. Then for this list, I kept pushing it up while listening to it - enough so where I ranked it at #72.
41. Tipsy - J-Kwon: Omgg I can't believe I lost TWO of my Top 10 entries with this latest reveal. Ughh I'm doing terribly once again. :'( This was my #10 so once again, it's another song that I reallly do love so much. I don't get how this ranks so low here but it shockingly made it to the Top 5 in the One Hit Wonders thread. But this song is so catchy, fun and addicting. Love the vibe/feel of it and that chorus is so fun and catchy. Yayy 🇯🇲 lucy88 🇯🇲 for coming through with another high ranking for a song I love! Happy that there are no Bottom 20 rankings for this.

I can imagine Brandy on “Always On Time”.
Jay was so disrespectful on “Is That Your Chick”. Misdemeanor was an instigator on the hook. lol. I prefer the hook on Memphis Bleek’s version.

39. Ugly - Bubba SparxxxBorn in LaGrange, Georgia, Warren Mathis was discovered by Bobby Stamps after rapping at a college football game. They teamed up with producer Shannon Houchins to work on his debut album Dark Days, Bright Nights. Initially released independently in 2001, the album caught the attention of Jimmy Iovine, who signed Bubba to Interscope. The album was then re-released with several collaborations with Timbaland and Organized Noize. One such collaboration was "Ugly", featuring and produced by Timbaland. It peaked at #6 on the rap and R&B charts and #15 on the Hot 100. Samples "Get Ur Freak On" by Missy Elliott and features uncredited vocals by Tweet. 38. Still Fly - Big TymersFormed in New Orleans, Big Tymers consisted of Birdman and Mannie Fresh (Byron Thomas). They scored their biggest hit in 2002 with "Still Fly". It peaked at #3 on the rap chart, #4 on the R&B chart, and #11 on the Hot 100. Contains an interpolation of "The Ballad of Gilligan's Isle", the theme song the '60s classic Gilligan's Island. It was later sampled by Drake and also in the song "Fast Lane" by Don Toliver, Lil Durk and Latto. Big Tymers split in 2005 after Mannie Fresh left Cash Money and signed with Def Jam. They reunited in 2018 on the song "Designer Caskets". 40. Lloyd Banks - On Fire: This is such a fire jam and another song on here that I do really like/love enough to rank it at #29. I really like beat and what Lloyd brings to the song. This was my favorite song of his, but also really liked "Karma" too. 39. Ugly - Bubba Sparxxx: Ughh dang it, I ranked this at #34, so I was just 5 spots from a perfect ranking. I'm never gonna get a perfect ranking huh? Anyway, this is another great and fun jam! The beat is killer but then again, Timbaland never lets us down with his production. This was a great way for Bubba Sparxxx to introduce himself in the rap game. This is one of my favorite songs from him alongside "Ms. New Booty." Though I don't know which song I prefer. Wow if it weren't for that #88 ranking, this could have had no Bottom 35 rankings. :o 38. Still Fly - Big Tymers: Dang now I'm just two spots off from a perfect rank as I placed this at #40? lmaoo I'm never gonna get a perfect ranking. Anyway, this is another really fun jam. It's kind of a guilty pleasure to me, because it has that catchy, fun and hilarioous chorus that I couldn't get out of my head. The verses are also fun and crack me up. Fun song and definitely my favorite song from Big Tymers. 37. Soul Survivor - Jeezy feat. Akon: Ahh... gosh another song.... that I ranked at like #33 and was just 4 spots off from a perfect ranking. OF COURSE this happens again. This is a really cool, great and catchy jam. Ireally enjoy what both Young Jeezy and Akon bring to this song. Also one of my favorite songs of Jeezy's, alongside "Go Getta." It's nice seeing so many rankings in the 30s here for this song. 36. Part II - Method Man & Redman: Ooh okay, finallly one of my lowest ranks show up, with this being my #80. I do like this and think it's a cool song. But it's not one of my favorites of the decade nor any of my favorites from either Method Man or Redman. I do like it and especially like the Toni Braxton sample here.

I KNEW Ugly wouldn't stand a chance here. I went with my heart on this one, but...#NOREGERTS. Deliverance is the superior Bubba album though. I know he had a hit with Ms. New Booty, but I was done with him after Deliverance. I might have to go listen to that album tonight now.
