10. Get Low - Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz feat. Ying Yang Twins
Born and raised in Atlanta, Jonathan Smith started out as a DJ. He later met Jermaine Dupri and became A&R at his label So So Def. He also formed The Eastside Boyz with Big Sam and Lil Bo, and in 2003 scored a big hit with "Get Low" featuring Ying Yang Twins. It topped the rap chart and peaked at #2 on the R&B and Hot 100 charts. It also helped to popularize the crunk subgenre of hip hop.
Points: 1262 Average: 22.13 Standard Deviation
So glad this made top 10! Wasn't sure it would even go this far.

9. 99 Problems - Jay-Z"99 Problems" was released in 2004 as the third single from The Black Album. Produced by Rick Rubin, it peaked at #10 on the rap chart, #26 on the R&B chart, and #30 on the Hot 100, and won a Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance. Samples "The Big Beat" by Billy Squier, "Long Red" by Mountain, "Get Me Back On Time" by Wilson Pickett, and contains an interpolation of "99 Problems" by Ice-T. It's widely considered one of Jay-Z's best songs. Apologies to dremolus - solarpunk and American Idiot... Points: 1263 Average: 22.06 Standard Deviation: 24.667 (32nd /div] Iconic, but he has several other hits that I enjoy far more.

4. In Da Club - 50 CentBorn and raised in the South Jamaica section of Queens, Curtis Jackson started out as a drug dealer. He later met Jam Master Jay, who taught him how to count bars and structure his songs. He signed with Columbia and recorded an album, but that album was shelved and 50 was dropped by the label. His fortunes turned around after meeting Eminem and Dr. Dre. His 2003 single "In Da Club" topped the rap, R&B and Hot 100 charts, and hit #1 in eight other countries. It received Grammy nominations for Best Male Rap Solo Performance and Best Rap Song, and was Billboard's top pop, R&B, and rap single for 2003. 50 Cent was sued in 2006 by a former manager for 2 Live Crew for copyright infringement, accused of taking the line "It's your birthday" from Luke's song of the same name. The suit was later dismissed. The song was originally offered to D12, but they passed on it. Beyonce recorded a remix to "In Da Club" titled "Sexy Lil Thug". Apologies to beyoncelover... Five Top 5s will go down (none of them are #1s), and everyone had this in their Top 40.

3. Hate It Or Love It - The Game feat. 50 CentStraight outta Compton, Jayceon Taylor got his stage name from the 1997 movie of the same name. He gained recognition in the hip hop community through his mixtapes, one of which ended up in the hands of Diddy. He nearly signed him to Bad Boy, but The Game chose to sign with Dr. Dre's Aftermath label instead. His 2005 single "Hate It Or Love It" featuring 50 Cent topped the rap and R&B charts and peaked at #2 on the Hot 100. Samples "Rubber Band" by The Trammps and received Grammy nominations for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance By a Duo Or Group. There are a few remixes of the song, one of which was by Mary J. Blige titled "MJB Da MVP". Yaaaaay! I'm so happy that Missy won!! The bhangra inspired production was everything...thus it paved the way for other bhangra inspired tracks like Truth Hurts Addictive.
I love Outkast, but if their other singles like "Ms.Jackson", "So Fresh, So Clean", "I Like The Way You Move", or "Hey Ya!" were in this rankdown, most definitely I would have included them in my top 10.

5. Drop It Like It's Hot - Snoop Dogg feat. Pharrell: Yesss, this is such a classic jam from Snoop and Pharrell. Really love everything about this song and love it enough to rank it at #13. Love the beat and what Snoop and Pharrell bring to the song! I also really loved "Beautiful" and would have ranked that one even higher. 4. In Da Club - 50 Cent: ICONIC! I'm reallly so glad to see this song make it through all the way through to the Top 5 as this is my #1. It's definitely up there as amongst one of my favorite rap songs. This song always gets me so pumped, happy and excited. I have heard it a ton over the 20 years since its released but it still sounds fresh and never gets old to me. Just sooo classic. Of course I wish this could have been the overall #1 but pleased this made it to #4. This is my favorite from 50 though I loved so many of his hits from his first two albums. Very pleased to see 8 Top 10 rankings here. And also pleased just one Bottom half ranking. 3. Hate It Or Love It - The Game feat. 50 Cent: Oh wow interesting how two 50 songs are back to back, though this is moreso The Game's song. I really love this song and love it enough so to rank it at #11. I really wish I could have found room to squeeze this in my Top 10. This is a really great song and love what both The Game and 50 bring to this song. Also really nice seeing this song having the 2nd lowest SD and all of us having this in our Top 40 rankings. That is truly impressive. And this has always been my favorite from The Game. 2. B.O.B. - Outkast: This is a really cool and fun song from OutKast. I'm not surprised to see it rank this high and this is a very impressive finish for this song. It's not one of my veryyy favorites but I do really like it enough to rank it at #50. lmaoo since singingrulebritannia called me out, I'll stay true to my character and list the songs I prefer and would have ranked higher if they were here. "Hey Ya", "The Way You Move", "Ms. Jackson", "So Fresh, So Clean" and "Roses." Most of those would have probably cracked my Top 20 or Top 25. But I am glad this didn't pull off the win as I wouldn't have wanted my #50 to win over songs I love more, haha. But woww 5 #1s and 5 #2s is really impressive for this! 1. Get Ur Freak On - Missy Elliott: Yesss, such an iconic jam from Missy! I had a strong feeling this song would be a contender to win and I'm really glad to see this song pull off the win. This is such a classic and I love this song a ton, so much so to give it a #7 ranking. This only ranked #7 on the rap charts? I do not get that. Nicee that this got the 3rd lowest SD, 4 #1 rankings and wow this got a very impressive 14 Top 10 rankings! :omg: And woww nearly all of the rankings for this were in the Top 16, except for that one #51. :o This was another reallly fun rankdown, SoulSista and thank you for hosting! Of all the hip hop rounds so far, this has been my favorite as I was really invested and strongly followed 2000s hip hop more than the decades prior. I wish I could have had more perfect rankings but at least I got one in there towards the end, lol. Looking forward to the 2010s round!
