Aren’t music videos in a completely separate world when it comes to an actual song or album releasing? I guess maybe Apple asked Olivia and her team if they could do this and then they decided to just promote the general material they wanted to do for GUTS at once so they pushed the release date back for the album towards September.

This still happens at the ACMs & CMAs cause some Country fans still download music. Rock also gets huge increases. But when numbers outside of debut weeks start out at negligible numbers, even big surges amount to nearly nothing.

It’s no guarantee Cruel Summer is the biggest benefactor of the movie bump, plus 1989 TV will be coming up shortly too.

The movie is more than likely not touching 200m on debut weekend. 20M would have been a huge win, and it's tracking near 100M which is already the biggest TOTAL for a concert movie ever.

The rest of your statement is quite easy for her to achieve though. I do fear there's no room there for Cruel Summer to get some sort of massive bump into #1 though, unless the film does miracles for the streams before 1989 sucks all the air in the room.

Eras Movie is tracking to have an opening weekend between 100M and 160M. I wouldn't say 200M isn't out of the question per say but it's not a bit of an uphill battle. Only 8 films have broken 200M on opening day: 5 MCU movies (Black Panther, No Way Home, and the Avengers movies minus Ultron), The first two movies of the Star Wars sequel trilogy, and Jurassic World. It's already uncharted territory for a concert film doing this well - especially even before it's actually dropped - so who knows what the debut week will actually be like but stranger things have happened in terms of box office this year.

Five Nights will do just fine because there are hardly any new releases in October due to the strike. That’s also going to help Taylor a lot because options are slim pickings and unless you like horror there’s not a lot of big budget movies coming out around that time

The movie is more than likely not touching 200m on debut weekend. 20M would have been a huge win, and it's tracking near 100M which is already the biggest TOTAL for a concert movie ever.

The rest of your statement is quite easy for her to achieve though. I do fear there's no room there for Cruel Summer to get some sort of massive bump into #1 though, unless the film does miracles for the streams before 1989 sucks all the air in the room.

Not to get TOO into box office stuff, the tickets being 20% more than regular tickets is a huge part of it being possible. If it matches what Barbie did week 1, with 20% more expensive tickets that’s 200m. It’s no guarantee but with the year Taylor’s been having plus the inevitable repeat business, I’d sooner bet on it then against it personally. Plus concert movies are known for REALLY high per theater averages, The Hannah Montana movie is still one of the highest ever so the sky is really the limit.

It’d have to drop over 75% week 2 to be in the conversation for biggest drop though. With it only being a weekend thing, that centers all its potential weekday shows into the weekend giving it a softer drop. It’s not impossible for back to back 100m weekends.
