coleworld there are certainly Drake fans who will appreciate the song but it simply doesn't work as a single. It's 5 minutes long with no discernable hook, long-winded verses and it's an R&B song.

Most of Drake's chart hits are straight rap songs or melodic rap songs. His R&B cuts usually end up as fan favorites but they never do any damage on the charts.

It got off to a strong start on streaming because its the first official offering from the album but no one should expect it to be a long-standing hit. A top 10 debut is as much success as one can hope for with a song like that.

If Drake wants a hit single, he simply needs to release a song that'll work better to achieve that.

I see what you're saying, but I think it's the first time Drake can have a hit with this type of song. With the exception of Hold On, We're Going Home, which is an R&B song, but way more catchy, Drake was not chartly successful with R&B songs. On the other hand, it's the first time a R&B song is his lead single.
I don't think this song will have the stability of a big hit, but I can see the huge numbers for the first week and then the stream numbers drops.

I think a lot of you are underestimating Drake on Apple Music i think it would be the biggest factor at if the song ends up at #1 or not.

Well he only lost 436k on Spotify and is still going strong on AM so maybe the #1 isn’t so far fetched at all.

Nice seeing October London's Back To Your Place growing on the radio. Wonder if it could at least enter the Billboard Bubbling Under chart. It is a beautiful song. More exposure could help sales, streams, etc.
