-If the predictions come true, not a single Olivia song has spent one week on the Hot 100. -Tate McRae will get her 2nd top 40 song, 3 years since her first one - YBMF. -With his new album bomb, Rod Wave will have close to 70 songs on the Hot 100, but still without a top 10 song (Tombstone peaked at #11).

I think Taylo4's best case scenario is beating Midnights' debut number (1.5m). Not even Adele herself can reach those 25 numbers these days.
I think Adele's record will stand until some sort of recalibration happens (i.e. see Drake, record streaming numbers still yield well under 1m units, so there's clearly a ceiling to how high streaming can propel an album).

There are a lot of "big" albums coming out basically weekly until the end of the year. Should be a super interesting Q4. Some of my faves/or ones that I expect to do some chart damage lol also idk if all dates are accurate, I havent double checked.[ 9/22 Doja Cat "Scarlet" Staind "Confessions Of The Fallen" 9/29 Ed Sheeran "Autumn Variations" 10/6 Colbie Caillat "Along The Way" Darius Rucker "Carolyn's Boy" Drake "For All The Dogs" 10/13 Troye Sivan "Something To Give Each Other" 10/20 Blink-182 "One More Time..." The Rolling Stones "Hackney Diamonds" 10/27 Taking Back Sunday "152" Taylor Swift "1989 (Taylor's Version)" 11/3 Jason Aldean "Highway Desperado" Jimmy Buffett "Equal Strain On All Parts" 11/10 Chris Stapleton "Higher" 11/17 Dolly Parton "Rockstar" Nicki Minaj "Pink Friday 2" Plain White T's "Plain White T's" Sorry but Colbie Caillat, Darius Rucker, Taking Back Sunday and Plain White T's probably will not do much on charts. Also don't think that Jason Aldean album will be popular minus the SPS from TTIAST.

What are you saying this based on exactly? The album was announced about 6 weeks ago and has moved ~800k in pre-orders units with over half of that happening within 24 hours. It drops in about 5 weeks but most fans have already placed their pre-orders and she has already announced several physical covers/versions of the album to boost sales. I doubt she moves even 200k more in pre-orders from now till the album drops. Maybe an extra 300k units from physical sales from stores the week the album drops. The album has 21 songs but I don't see it coming close to breaking Midnights' streaming record so best case, it does an extra 300-350k+ units from streaming. That's 1.6-1.7/1.8M units at best. 2.5M is a massive reach and overestimation. Y'all forget this is her THIRD album in about a year.

Someone told me she made 4 different back album covers, different color vinyls, etc. If need be I'm sure some more covers or colors or deluxe editions will come out to ensure fans feel a need to buy more copies and thus ensure a specific sales total. I guess the question is more what specific level is she aiming for. Is the concert film dropping that same weekend? That would likely add sales too.

85la that's fair enough but you also have to be realistic. 1989 TV was always going to be the most successful TV release but still, it's her third album in a year and because of the anticipation, it'll probably be her most frontloaded in terms of sales/streams. @stateofgrace yeah, there's also that. It's also the TV with the fewest songs. I think it'll score a massive debut but people need to temper their expectations a bit with the 2M+ projections imo.

I think the album is gonna do upwards of 2 million, at least, like the hype around her right now is insane. And seeing how well Midnights did and all the vinyls and different covers she's sold, plus the fact that her movie comes out like 2 weeks before and 1989 is her biggest album commercially. All the stars are aligning for a really huge debut. The 1989 singles have been streaming really good by themselves (Blank Space re-entered the Hot 100 for a couple weeks this year), so with a Taylor's version out fans are gonna be rabid.

I think it's now safe to say SYO won't be debuting at #1. The massive streaming losses I predicted are here (also PTTR is having massive gains on radio this week). Still, good showing for a song like that to manage a top 5 debut. Perhaps it'll shoot back into the top 10 after For All the Dogs drops.

Is there a reason why No Role Modelz is getting consistently high streams on Spotify? It's on a lot of the biggest hip-hop playlists on Spotify. Same with songs like Sweater Weather with rock/alternative playlists.

Fans were also rabid with the Midnights songs (entire top 10) and it did "just" 1.5m. I fail to see how she can make an additional 500k with a rerecorded album, let alone a whole ass million more to get it to 2.5m
Anything above 1m is huge. Anything above Midnights is another career high this year for her. I just don't think a rerecorded album is gonna do Adele peak numbers, even with the four covers.
I think this is the same hype cloud that made people think 30 was gonna shatter records with little evidence.

Same with songs like Sweater Weather with rock/alternative playlists. It's a bit of a feedback loop — "No Role Modelz" has been consistently strong since it came out, which has kept it in major playlists, which has kept it strong, which has kept it in playlists... It's spent more days in the top 200 in the U.S. than any other song.

I'm leaning higher on predictions for 1989 numbers, mostly because it seems to have been the peak of Taylor's pre-Eras albums and the one that I'd think has the highest agreement amongst fans and casual fans. As in, of all her TVs, it's the one casual fans might be most likely to get with. If I remember correctly, Speak Now outperformed expectations too didn't it? I could see people who didn't bother with Speak Now (such as myself) being interested in 1989 (as I am). In any case, I think this will outdo (realistic) expectations. I doubt it'd come close to Adele's record but it could outpace all the other TVs.

We’re underestimating the power that Drake has on Apple Music and if Rod Wave couldn’t get any song from his album bomb to #1 despite dominating almost the entire top 15 that’s how you know SYO is really strong.

Still, good showing for a song like that to manage a top 5 debut. Perhaps it'll shoot back into the top 10 after For All the Dogs drops. I think it still will. We’re underestimating the power that Drake has on Apple Music and if Rod Wave couldn’t get any song from his album bomb to #1 despite dominating almost the entire top 15 that’s how you know SYO is really strong. Apple Music positions do not mean anything because Apple Music is very weak outside of album bombs and a few other songs. Guts suffered significant streaming losses on US Spotify on Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday last week despite being relatively stable on US Apple Music in position simply because it was so much further ahead of other songs at the start of the week (they still fell almost the same percentage on US Apple Music in streams). Even though we can't see US Spotify numbers for Rod Wave's tracks, the streams on the counter indicate similar frontloadedness to Guts. At this point, all of the Rod Wave tracks are doing well below 1.5 million streams per day on US Apple Music. Slime You Out being #1 doesn't mean anything because it could be doing less streams on Apple Music than Spotify.

Liv still having 4 songs in the top 10 Spotify streams after 2 weeks is delightful to see.

Even with the streaming losses for SYO for the past 2 days i think it could still be in the top 3 at least. We all know Drake will most likely get a song to #1 during his album bomb but if SYO doesnt get there this will be the 3rd song this year involving him to miss the top spot but still debut in the top 3.

It held solid enough so it’s still favored for the #1.

I haven't been tracking numbers this week but that nearly 20 point lead should secure the #1 for Drake and SZA regardless of how it starts dropping now.
