Didn't Billboard change the chart (which benefited xmas songs) because of legendary acts dying? I thought it was in part due to Whitney's death to reflect her songs gaining popularity again. I could be making that all up, though.
But, I don't see Billboard changing their formula again because xmas music is the most consumed for a month. They stated then that the chart was to reflect the most popular music at the moment, regardless of when it was released.
Anyway, I'm happy it's Mariah season, because, like, I love Taylor but I think I've even burned myself out with her a bit this year.
That being said, I'm typing this while wearing my Cruel Summer tshirt.
Also, won't it be bizarre when the number one song goes from Cruel Summer to All I Want for Christmas? Could there be more opposite titles (unless you're in the southern hemisphere, I suppose).

Dua's "Houdini" did 2,590,551 views on youtube 10-11th in the US and is #1 on the kworb daily chart. Should hopefully help its overall streaming.

I seem to recall it was changed after Michael Jackson's death, with his old songs and LPs ineligible to chart (and the Comprehensive album chart with no recurrent rules essentially became the Billboard 200). Whitney was the first act to benefit from the changes, if there's any benefit to dying. |

Taylor Xmas album is like the easiest cash grab lol I would love a more mature take on her early songs. she can easily tack on an original or two, a couple more covers, and all her previous material and make a huge album out of it. I guess it will happen at some point without a doubt but will she surprise release it and end 2023 even bigger, probably one of the biggest in music history? or will she save it for another year if she wants to slow down or take a "Break" for an easy release? I would just say surprise drop that bad boy the week of thanksgiving or something lol
