Sure, but this is true for more than Drake. It happens with Taylor Swift, BTS, holiday music, etc. In a general sense it's of course natural that people won't mind it happening when it's someone they like and then be bothered when it's not a fave. You *reeeeeeeaaaalllly* wanna make this link when they're not even comparable huh, because you just love to believe that anyone who is tired of Mariah or other holiday artists charting with the same material every year must only be because they *hate* or *dislike* said artists in question and not possibly because the monotony and predictability that occurs as a result for the chart watcher or the general tiring of hearing the same songs 14 million times. That's such unhealthy stan logic. Not everyone is a blind stan to their fav who just supports any and every single thing they do while applauding every decision they make. I love Taylor and many other artists but I would *never* enjoy or support them releasing the same material (Christmas or not) year after year after year after year. I can't even get into her re-records (outside the vault tracks) and they've only been released twice for this very reason. lol

You really want to think you know what I think, but you do not. You know nothing about me. I ask you respectfully to either make a point to understand me, or to stop making assumptions and leave me out of your posts. Thank you. Ok so your last post wasn't in fact insinuating that you personally believe people only take issue with artists releasing a lot or releasing the same material a lot (aka holiday music as you said) because they don't like them in general, but feel differently when it's their fav? I mean, there's not too much to misinterpret there with your last post as that's pretty much what was said? But feel free to elaborate if I somehow got it wrong. As far as me leaving you out of my posts, no problem. So long as you do the same. =) It's very hilarious, but predictable seeing people who aren't Drake fans and who have never cared for his music in general, complaining about him releasing too much music like they're being forced to tune in to what he does or something. What really has them bothered is the impact his music has on the charts and how much they really don't like that. Sure, but this is true for more than Drake. It happens with Taylor Swift, BTS, holiday music, etc. In a general sense it's of course natural that people won't mind it happening when it's someone they like and then be bothered when it's not a fave. I look more at the specific statements and logic used. If someone's just honest and its like, "Hey I dislike this in general but when it's my fave I can't help but feel different" then I respect the honesty. I'm also interested to know if some of the same people who complain about the holiday takeover now complain about Drake, because if nothing else Drake's release will help slow the holiday takeover a bit.

If it’s accurate, the only prediction I got wrong was “Houdini” entering top 10 on debut.

Is It Over Now? stays on top for a third week in a row, actually spending more weeks as the most streamed song within a week compared to Anti-Hero's two weeks. It's far from a strong #1 as it dropped by 20.54% in streams and is guaranteed to lose the spot to a song I didn't even know existed until it went viral, Jack Harlow's Lovin On Me which debuts at #2 with 9M streams. Breaking into the Top 5 with a new peak, the sleeper hit that keeps chugging is Stick Season which was up 7.93% in streams. Re-entering the Top 10 and also reaching a new peak is Agora Hills which gained 8.56% and for the first time ever is above Paint the Town Red.
Losing big this week however was Taylor. 1989 (Taylor's Version) saw ten songs dropout this week as the album saw a big drop of 47.31% in streams. Leaving the Top 10 were "Slut!" and Say Don't Go which fell 25.44% and and 31.83%. The debuts from last week aslo saw harsh decreases as Cobra dropped 36%, Standing Next to You dropped 22.91%, and Can't Catch Me Now dropped 27.35% though as I said last week, it'll be interesting how this song does now that the movie and its sound are out.
In terms of debuts outside of Jack Harlow, Dua Lipa came back to the expectedly middling streams with Houdini and Noah Kahan's newest remixed single in Northern Attitude with Hozier also did well. Both drew 5.5M in their first week though I suspect Houdini will have more longevity. We also saw the Christmas freeze starting as a bunch of Christmas songs gained or re-entered at high spots. Chris Stapleton also saw a big gain for White Horse with his newest album even if disappointingly, we didn't get any more debuts. Perhaps the funniest gain came for Karma which shot back up thanks to a viral kiss from her boyfriend while at a concert in Brazil.
Notable Gains: White Horse - 61.75% Jingle Bell Rock - 34.49% Karma - 31.63% Last Christmas - 31.16% It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas - 24.98% All I Want for Christmas is You - 16.7% HARLEY QUINN - 16.39% Religiously - 16.28% Boy's a liar Pt. 2 - 15.19% Wild Ones - 12.14% Fast Car - 10.81%

Taking a more thorough look at TOTC's final Hot 100 prediction, the two holiday songs that re-entered the equivalent chart week of 2022, AIWFCIY and Jing Bell Rock will both re-enter much higher than they did last year. RATCT wouldn't be able to re-enter yet because of the 52 week recurrent rule. Two other holiday songs, Last Christmas and A Holly Jolly Christmas, will re-enter one week earlier than they did last year.
All of this is a reflection of how weak the Hot 100 continues to be. I think the Hot 100 that contains Christmas in its tracking week will be the strongest one for holiday songs ever.

Harlow adds his fifth top 10 and McRae achieves her first.
Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” adds a fourth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart.
Also in the Hot 100’s top 10, Jack Harlow debuts at No. 2 with “Lovin on Me,” the most-streamed song of the week and his fifth career top 10, and Tate McRae climbs 11-8 with “Greedy,” her first song to reach the region.
The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data, the lattermost metric reflecting purchases of physical singles and digital tracks from full-service digital music retailers; digital singles sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites are excluded from chart calculations. All charts (dated Nov. 25, 2023) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Nov. 21). For all chart news, you can follow billboard and billboardcharts on both X, formerly known as Twitter, and Instagram.
“Cruel Summer” drew 73.9 million radio airplay audience impressions (down 5%) and 14.4 million streams (up 4%) and sold 3,000 downloads (up 21%) in the Nov. 10-16 tracking week, according to Luminate.
The single scores a fifth week at No. 1 on the Radio Songs chart; rises 8-5 on Streaming Songs, following a week at on top; and ascends 19-13 on Digital Song Sales, also after a week in charge.
As previously noted, “Cruel Summer” was originally released on Swift’s 2019 Republic Records album Lover before being promoted as a single and gaining new prominence as the superstar has performed it on her The Eras Tour this year.
Notably, across her 11 Hot 100 No. 1s, Swift has now led for 34 total weeks, tying for the ninth-best total, dating to the chart’s Aug. 4, 1958, inception.
Most Career Weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100:
91, Mariah Carey 60, Rihanna 59, The Beatles 56, Drake 50, Boyz II Men 47, Usher 43, Beyoncé 37, Michael Jackson 34, Adele 34, Elton John 34, Bruno Mars 34, Taylor Swift 33, Janet Jackson 33, Katy Perry
Jack Harlow’s “Lovin on Me” enters the Hot 100 at No. 2, with 22.2 million streams, 12.2 million in radio audience and 12,000 sold, following its Nov. 10 release.
The track is Harlow’s fifth Hot 100 top 10, and top five hit, following “3D,” with Jung Kook (No. 5 peak, October); “First Class” (No. 1 for three weeks in 2022); “Industry Baby,” with Lil Nas X (No. 1, one week, 2021); and “Whats Poppin,” featuring DaBaby, Tory Lanez and Lil Wayne (No. 2, 2020).
Harlow becomes just the fourth artist to tally at least one new top five Hot 100 hit each year this decade, joining Doja Cat, Drake and Taylor Swift.
“Lovin on Me” launches at No. 1 on the all-genre Streaming Songs chart, where Harlow lands his third leader, after “First Class” (three weeks) and “Industry Baby” (two).
“Lovin on Me” concurrently debuts atop the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts, which use the same methodology as the Hot 100. It’s likewise Harlow’s third No. 1 on each list; “First Class” and “Industry Baby” dominated Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for 10 and 18 weeks, respectively, and Hot Rap Songs for 14 and 19 weeks, respectively.
Doja Cat’s “Paint the Town Red” dips 2-3 on the Hot 100, after it led for three nonconsecutive weeks beginning in September, and SZA’s “Snooze” keeps comfy at No. 4, after reaching No. 2, as it rules the multi-metric Hot R&B Songs chart for a 16th week.
Swift’s “Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version) [From the Vault]” falls 3-5 on the Hot 100, two weeks after it soared in as her 11th No. 1; Zach Bryan’s “I Remember Everything,” featuring Kacey Musgraves, holds at No. 6, after it led for a week upon its debut in September, as it tops the multi-metric Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Hot Rock Songs charts for a 12th week each and Hot Country Songs for an eighth frame; and Luke Combs’ “Fast Car” rolls 8-7 on the Hot 100, after reaching No. 2.
Tate McRae’s “Greedy” advances 11-8 on the Hot 100, with 39.1 million airplay audience impressions (up 35%), 13 million streams (up 3%) and 2,000 sold.
The singer-songwriter from Calgary, Alberta (she drives a Zamboni in the song’s official video), and now based in Los Angeles, achieves her first Hot 100 top 10; she posted a prior No. 17 best with her first entry, “You Broke Me First.,” in 2021. She also earns her first top 10 on Radio Songs, where “Greedy” surges 19-10.
“Greedy” is from McRae’s second LP, Think Later, due Dec. 8. Over the weekend, she performed for the first time on both NBC’s Saturday Night Live (Nov. 18) and the 2023 Billboard Music Awards (Nov. 19). “I think what defines a pop star is how iconic [they are],” McRae muses in the latest Billboard cover story. “Madonna, Britney [Spears], Christina [Aguilera]; they would put on these shows and blow everybody away and make timeless art. And that’s what I want to do: make timeless art and timeless performances – and strive to keep on doing that.” Rounding out the Hot 100’s top 10: Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” lifts 10-9, following 16 weeks at No. 1 beginning in March – the longest reign ever for a non-collaboration – and his “Thinkin’ Bout Me” slips 9-10, after hitting No. 7. Again, for all chart news, you can follow billboard and billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram and all charts (dated Nov. 25), including the Hot 100 in its entirety, will refresh on Billboard.com tomorrow (Nov. 21). Luminate, the independent data provider to the Billboard charts, completes a thorough review of all data submissions used in compiling the weekly chart rankings. Luminate reviews and authenticates data. In partnership with Billboard, data deemed suspicious or unverifiable is removed, using established criteria, before final chart calculations are made and published.

Yeah there is evidence to show that a lot of this is the decline in chart point strength. For the comparable Hot 100 last year, "AIWFCIY" re-entered at #25. This year it's #17. Interestingly, if the totals TOTC have for "AIWFCIY" are correct, its stats are worse this year despite re-entering 8 places higher. For both charts it had 14 million streams, but its airplay impressions are down 4 million and its sales are down 400 copies.

Crazy to see that Taylor has more weeks at #1 cumulatively than Katy Perry! TD’s number 1 run on Hot 100 and the Mainstream Top 40 is something were not going to see again for a long time

TD’s number 1 run on Hot 100 and the Mainstream Top 40 is something were not going to see again for a long time I guess that’s why I’m gonna enjoy seeing a legendary moment in pop culture history while it’s happening in real time cuz who knows when we’ll see this much domination from one person in the charts again?
