"Cruel Summer" is a perfect song. I can't believe it's now one of Taylor's biggest (and most organic) hits. If I could turn any album cut into a smash hit in a dream like scenario, it would be that. I'm glad that people made that happen.

However, "Kill Bill" feels like a more deserving winner here. SZA dominated from the start of the year and this song is so fresh. It screams 2023 more than "Cruel Summer" does.

I'm happy with either winning.

Even though my #1 didn't win (I mean, holy shit what a close race this was), I'm okay with this. "Cruel Summer" was an immediate personal favorite of mine when I first listened to 'Lover' in August 2019. After being such a fan favorite for the longest time, I'm still in awe that this reached #1, and is becoming one of her biggest hits ever. That chorus and that *bridge* are simply phenomenal, and have been for the past 4 years.

This was the less obvious winner between the top two, but a very well deserved one. This has a chorus that gets stuck in your head for days with some fun, great lyrics about a deranged murder fantasy (that shouldn't be taken at all seriously, come on now). It was super exciting see this reach #1 on the Hot 100, even if it was just for one week. Consider this official justice for "Good Days" <3

Well that was unexpected! As I mentioned, I'm cool with "Cruel Summer" winning, but "Kill Bill" winning feels just so freaking right!

Happy with this result. Kill Bill is great and quite unique lyrically for a hit of this size. One of my favorites from SOS (Good Days deserved #1 in 2021!!!!).

Cruel Summer getting another chance and eventually hitting #1 is one of the best music moments of the year for sure. Glad it finally got it's chance to shine.

kill bill is obviously great too but cruel summer is literally a perfect pop song in my eyes, as predictable of a winner as it would've been, it's a song where even its flaws only make it more perfect to me. this song booming out of the speakers at the eras tour was one of the highlights of the year for me.

The lowest song on my list in the top ten won it all and I'm not even mad. This was a really stacked top ten. SZA kinda defined this year and for good reason, and I'll walk away feeling like this is a bit of justice for Good Days.
