I ranked Cruel Summer higher (if my pfp was any indication) but I am absolutely satisfied with Kill Bill winning. Me ranking it at #7 felt dirty to begin with but I really did love my top 10. Plus, we stan unpredictability

Cruel Summer was the non-single of the century, the "next RUTH" for a year. No matter what it is beyond unbelievable what the song, and Taylor herself, accomplished in 2023.
Excellent job and congrats SZA on an also-deserved win

although cruel summer was my #1 SZA definitely deserves this, kill bill is an incredible song and definitely one of the songs I enjoyed listening to the most this year. also would like to point out that neither of my top 2 (cruel summer and bloody mary) were released in the 2020s. wasn't intentional but I find it interesting! last but not least, thank you so much reputainbow for hosting, you absolutely killed it with the reveals and gifs and everything, I had so much fun participating and following along and I know this can be super hard to do because it was so big but you did not disappoint whatsoever!

Thank you Rep. You put up with all the forks and trolls in a way that I never could have, plus the graphics and way your reveals looked was beautiful too. Now take a rest, you deserve it.

Both are great songs, but I feel like a Taylor Swift win would be less interesting than a SZA win, so I'm glad this is how the top 2 panned out. Thanks reputainbow for hosting this rankdown! You did a great job with it

i think both songs in the top 2 encompass what is great about popular music, super strong melodies & pretty flawless execution from SZA & Taylor. definitely satisfied with Kill Bill winning, such a jam.
great work hosting rep!

10. "Famefucker feels forced" you know what else feels forced? This sudden recent wave of Vampire hate because it maybe got onto one too many critic's Best Songs of 2023 lists 9. Eh. Shrug 8. This sounds just as good as anything on Future Nostalgia, and that's a feature, not a bug 7. I've recently warmed up to this a LOT, it's just very beautiful. I wish I was more eloquent to describe it 6. Good song but also a bit of shrug 5. A broken clock run by ByteDance is right twice a day 4. This on the other hand... overrated. It's Brutal if it was less good 3. This song really shook me upon first listen so a top 3 placement is very well deserved 2. ...let's just say if I had joined this RD this would've gone #1 with ease 1. I genuinely think Nobody Gets Me is a hair better than this, am I the problem? Anyway, still a well deserved win for SZA

HOLY??? I'm so happy with this winner!! There's something so captivating about Kill Bill, I've just been obsessed since release. I'm so glad SZA finally got such a massive solo hit after all these years, and honestly this feels like redemption for Good Days entirely missing the top 2 in 2021. Cruel Summer is a really solid song too and I'm happy that it got recognized as a hit now! Unfortunately it burned on me a bit after becoming a hit just cause I've heard it a lot but that doesn't mean I dislike it or anything. Would've been happy with it winning too! Maybe it'll win the 2024 rankdown lol. Thank you for hosting reputainbow, you absolutely crushed it!! Y'all need to do more rep hosted rankdowns because he always does great with them (especially the RYM ones)

Glad I Remember Everything is less tanked than expected. This being Last Night but with gravitas and perspective from both sides is interesting incidence. The richer production (compared to his other music) and irregular time signature (even though it's similar to SITO) also stand out. Kill Bill winning with last list is a pleasant surprise. I can never get tired to the chorus melody. It's as good as if it's sampled (which I don't think so), and it revenged the March Madness snub. Thanks reputainbow for hosting. The gifs are fun even though some of the top 10 hints are crazy swiftie detectives territory.

10. Olivia Rodrigo - Vampire: Oooh yayy this is my lowest ranked song of the Top 10, with this being my #31, so I'm pleased with this showing up now. This song took quite a long time for it to click with me. I didn't love it as much as I wanted to or as others did, but it had grown on me over the months after its release. I do really like it - but still prefer "drivers license" and "good 4 u" over this. But I do get the love for this. It's great to see that this didn't get any Bottom 24 rankings. 9. Taylor Swift - Anti-Hero: Ooh wow I am shocked that this song showed up already as I thought this would have made it through to the Top 5. This is a great song from Taylor to kick off her midnights era. It's a deep song but it's catchy and poppy and very enjoyable to listen to. I did drop this a few spots from my original ranking and I'm glad I pushed it down to #9 so that I could finally get a perfect ranking. The 17 Top 5 and 33 Top 10 ranks are very impressive. Yay for no Bottom 10 ranks. 8. Dua Lipa - Dance the Night: Ooh I do love this song and enough so to give it a #12 ranking. Yeah it's definitely is and comes off as a safe Dua song from like her last era. But it's still fun, catchy, poppy and a really enjoyable and great pop song. I'm happy that it's the last Barbie song standing. Oooh and I see that this song has the 3rd lowest SD, which Iwould have expected as this is an all around well liked song and not polaizing. Wow it's impressive that there are no Bottom 35 ranks for this! 7. Zach Bryan ft. Kacey Musgraves - I Remember Everything: Oooh okay so I know that this song is very loved a lot on here, which is cool and fair. However I am not really big on this and am glad to see this finally out - and miss making the Top 5, lol. This is by far my lowest ranked song, as this is my #78. But it's nice to see a country song (esp. with a male artist on it) ranking and doing so well here. Maybe if I heard this more it could grow on me? But still don't care much for this. Wow 33 Top 10 ranks is insanely good. lol I'm also glad that I'm not the lowerst ranker and two others put it lower than me, lol. 6. BeyoncΓ© - Cuff It: Ahhh dangg, I was really hoping for this to crack into the Top 5, so it's a bummer that it's SO close to making it there. :'( But at least it beat out my #78, so I can be happy about that at least lol. But yesss, I absolutely love this song and it's such a jam and such a blast to listen to! My favorite Bey song in quite a few years, in fact. This song just makes me smile and happy whenever I hear it. It's a song I always connect and go back to and yeah just love it sooo much that I couldn't place it anywhere but #1. Oooh and I also agree with rep, that this is such a good song that makes you want to go rollerblading. I always envision the music video to be like that (something alongside like the "Blow" video). Also yayyy samoπ¦, kimberly, and Az Paynter for those #1 rankings! Very happy with the 18 Top 5 and 34 Top 10 rankings too! But uuuhhhh what in the world is up with that #98 ranking? I got some questions to ask about that! 5. Steve Lacy - Bad Habit: I really love "Bad Habit" and wow, it's really impressive seeing how this song made it to #4 on last year's list and now #5 on this year's list. I do love this and think it's a great song - where I love it enough to give it a #14 ranking. Woww there are a ton of Top 10 ranks for this - wowzers, it's 35 Top 10 ranks and then 24 Top 5 ranks. That is truly incredible. :o The #99 ranking is rather shocking to me here. 4. Olivia Rodrigo - Bad Idea Right?: Whoa, I was not expecting this song to rank so high - with 47 Top 10 rankings and 7 #1 ranks. That's so insanely good! :o I do really like/love this song and enough so to give it a #30 ranking. I actually don't know how this just ended up just one spot above "vampire" since I feel I much prefer this song over that one but weird how that happens. But this is so fun, carefree, underrated (via Top 40 radio) and should have been a bigger hit. I'm glad it was on this list when it really should have made the real Billboard year-end Top 100. 3. RAYE ft. 070 Shake - Escapism: This is a pretty cool song but wow it really surprises me how much of a big favorite this song is on here - with 12 #1 ranks and 44 Top 10 ranks. I'm not quite as huge on the song as most rankers are here but I do really like it and it's grown on me overtime. I do like it enough to give it a #28 ranking - though I think I should have swapped this and "bad idea right?" around or something but oh well, too late for that. Really loving this Top 2 with it being my #2 vs. #5. Fully expecting my #5 to win, which is fine with me as I love both songs! 2. Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer: Dangg wow, it was reallly tight between that Top 2 and I felt so sure that this song would be the runaway winner. So the fact that it wasn't has me shook. But yeah this is a great Taylor classic. This has that smooth, easy, breezy feel to it. I love the chorus and the bridge is even better, such a strong and fantastic bridge. It's crazy how this becazme a hit 4 years after its release from the album. But it deserved to be a hit and I'm so glad it was. Woww 16 #1 rankings is insanely impressive! I do love this song enough to give it a #5 ranking - I'm happy this made the Top 2 but wasn't rooting for it to win against my #2. Nicee at no Bottom 15 ranks. 1.SZA - Kill Bill: Woww it's insane and impressive how "Kill Bill" pulled off the big upset and did so by just 10 points. :o I was prepared for this to come in 2nd and was fine with it too. But I do really love this song, enough so to give it a #2 ranking. It's easily my favorite solo/lead single from SZA. I love the dark mood and haunting feeling of this song - and the way SZA sings this in such a smooth way. I think this song is a fantastic winner for this game! Ugh booo at that #87 ranking but outside of that yay for no Bottom 39 rankings besides that one #87 rank. Thank you reputainbow for hosting this Rankdown! You've done such a great job with this game. It was great and so much fun to follow, watch and to be apart of.

Okay folks, let's do this one more time. Sometimes, I feel like a "Vampire", maybe because I really love to "Dance the Night" away. I know, it's a "Bad Habit", but at least "I Remember Everything". But I think it's time to "Cuff It", and stop doing that for "Escapism". I don't need to be an "Anti-Hero", because that's a "Bad Idea, Right?" I just need to go through this "Cruel Summer", starting by watching some "Kill Bill".
