I fail to see their strategy this era. It feels like they’re throwing out anything in hopes that something “clicks”. Training Season only begun to actually climb up radio so I’m not sure why they couldn’t wait a few weeks more and drop this concurrently with the album. Dua is promo-sensitive and that is something sorely lacking this era thus far. FN felt like an event.

This has been one messy era. At least I’m living for the music.

It sounds like another bop. I can see this smashing in Europe but struggling in the US.

Is this gonna be a radio single or just a promo single? I hope it’s the latter because Training Season is still rising and based off of the preview of Illusion, Training Season sounds like a much stronger single choice.

Either way, I’m hyped for both this album and getting to hear Illusion in full.

Honestly if this is her undeniable smash hit of the album they need to cut their losses with Houdini and Training Season, or it's just gonna flounder on the 20s to 60s range on the charts forever like those two. Literally they should pull them from radio and place all their bets on these.

Respectfully, even in this thread right now, people are starting to realize this isn't going to have the same impact FN did. Which is absolutely fine. But there is a bit of disappointment for some fans (myself included) that the era isn't building on past ones. And lets be real, every big artist has an epic era occasionally followed by some that don't hit as hard. So there is no (major) shade being thrown or anything.

Yes, perhaps the album will have some great songs (I expect it to be a very polished and good album), but if the two lead singles have not made huge impact, and people are already worried about the sound of the third single / promo song, I can't imagine that they have held onto a huge smash and waited this long to show us.

We have seen a decent sampling of the albums vision, direction and sound. I think its fair to have opinions now.
