Who better to revive the Active Rock-to-Pop pipeline than the band who had the final big Active Rcck-to-Pop crossover hit.

If this is a big hit, it would be the first active rock hit since, what, Beggin'? If you don't count "Love From The Other Side" and "One More Time" that likely got leftover spins from rock-leaning pop stations.
Also, I wonder if they'll play the pop remix or the original.

This has a solid chance of making the published update tomorrow night, considering that the bar to make the top 50 is extremely low right now.

Out of Top 50 yesterday, but came back. Currently #1 on Active Rock. POP:
76 50 SHINEDOWN A Symptom Of Being Human 113 53 60 0.44 Definitely one of the wildest runs I’ve seen in a long time. Despite being mainstays at Rock, this was promoted to Hot AC while “Dead Don’t Die” was promoted to rock. SOBH became their biggest Hot AC hit since “Second Chance”, hitting top 15 and staying on the chart for 6 months. Then it crossed to Active Rock (extending their most #1s in rock history—18 I think) and to Alt, becoming their biggest alt hit since “Bully” in 2012. Looks like it could be first top 10 alt since 2010’s “The Crow and the Butterfly”. Now crossing to pop, where the last charting hit was in 2009-10 with “If You Only Knew”. It’s been close to a year since its original release in March of last year. I hope it’s a hit for them.

If this is a big hit, it would be the first active rock hit since, what, Beggin'? If you don't count "Love From The Other Side" and "One More Time" that likely got leftover spins from rock-leaning pop stations. Also, I wonder if they'll play the pop remix or the original. beggin (and the other two) charted higher on alt (and are by bands that chart higher on alt then active) ,,,, there was the (promptly forgotten) sound of silence cover by disturbed did that hit #42 on the hot 100 and grazed the top 50 of hac / pop, but the last time an active rock song actually made a subsequent dent on the pop charts was in *2009* with if you only knew by ,,,, shinedown ! then the last time an active rock song became a bonafide with a year earlier with second chance ,,,,, also by shinedown anyways the song is mediocre (which, let's be real, was the case for a decent chunk of active to pop crossovers) but i'll still be rooting for it out of novelty and because this is something a lot of folks on the rock boards have been waiting to have happen for a HOT minute now. i will say that i am a bit skeptical of how far it's gonna go since usually outliers like this have to have great streaming to cross radio genre barriers and this song is notably not even in the top 5 currently most streamed shinedown songs (though part of that may be because of the two versions cannibalizing numbers from each other) but we'll see ! this is already way better then i would've expected for a shinedown song in 2024 tbh side note: when was the last time a song's radio remix was *this* different from the album version ? (not counting cases like i took a pill in ibiza seeb remix vs original since the seeb remix wasn't made specifically for radio)

I heard this for the first time yesterday on my pop station, and they played the original version. The message of the lyrics is sweet, but I found his vocals to be rough and kinda hard to get through. That said, after listening to the pop mix, I like this quite a bit better. It helps balance out his vocals a bit and gives you something else other to focus on, as the production was admittedly kinda limp in the original so that all you could focus on was his voice. The pop mix makes me want to root for it a little bit more, but I still don't know if I *love* it. side note: when was the last time a song's radio remix was *this* different from the album version ? (not counting cases like i took a pill in ibiza seeb remix vs original since the seeb remix wasn't made specifically for radio) "Speechless" by Dan + Shay comes to mind, I remember my station played a dance remix of it even though the original is a slow ballad (I searched YouTube but couldn't find it). Also, it didn't quite chart on pop, but "Just the Way" by Parmalee and Blanco Brown also had a pop remix that was more trappy, whereas the original version was country. (That one can be found by searching the "Downloads" page of AllAccess)
