I want to add that Madonna in 1990 was literally the biggest artist in the world, like she rivaled MJ, at least in this country. Anything she put out was huge, like Justify My Love went #1 that same year and that was a spoken word song with no hook. 

House music also just isn't that big here, Break My Soul was a #1 hit but it didn't have great longevity on the charts.

The only reason "Justify My Love" went to #1 was because MTV banned the video and Ted Koppel had a whole segment with Madonna on Nightline.

Surprisingly, her current feud with Nicky is making headlines everywhere, causing this song to explode in popularity. It's undoubtedly her best song so far. As for "redrum," the streaming numbers remain consistent.
