There’s a lot to unpack with this album… I think sonically it would have been better suited to follow evermore. It almost sounds like what I imagined “woodvale” would have sounded like. After Midnights and 1989 (TV) and Cruel Summer I think most people were craving pop-anthems but we got broody, folklore-esque vibes instead. folklore and evermore just came at the most suitable time in history. Being stuck inside surrounded by death and sadness and tragedy. They were an escape from reality and also a warm hug to distract from the sadness of it all.

Taylor grabbed my ass, dragged me back to that period of time with this one, and I wasn’t emotionally ready for it. It will grow on me, no doubt, because every Taylor album does. But coming out of a pandemic, I wanted something else. Not sure what that something else was, but it wasn’t this.

Regardless, this was an album that Taylor NEEDED to make. I don’t imagine this era will last very long in the grand scheme of things. It isn’t super radio friendly and she has two albums in the barrel ready to release at a moments notice. Pre-orders are her bread and butter right now so I imagine she’ll announce Rep (TV) this Summer in time for Halloween and Debut (TV) pre-orders in time for the holiday sales rush and her birthday. I can’t imagine she’ll want to prolong this album because she is ready to move on from Joe and enjoy her relationship with Travis. Spending too long on this cycle might paint the wrong picture.

The biggest travesty of it all is that we’ll never get the full version of Fortnite (AI’s Version)(feat More Postie)(Tiktok Edition)

I believe Billboard has no double album rules? RIAA does in order to count each sale twice so if this qualifies it's certainly gonna be in contention to be her highest certified project even if not her actual best selling.

Aaron does a great job of creating unique melodies almost every time they work together. All of their songs sound different from each other. Jack and her make some magic but its started to get kind of sound-samey.

Well at this point I feel like it will be a long time (if ever) before she really takes a music hiatus since obviously she just writes and writes. Counting both this and Midnights as essentially 4 albums, she basically put out 7 new albums in the past 5 years. That output is bonkers.

I fear there's no way it isn't the same here, it's just that no one is gonna tell Taylor to edit down her album when her fanbase is huge enough that all 31 tracks will be Platinum before the 1 year mark.

Second half slays first half tho. Dessner ate as usual.

Definitely true too. I personally didn’t care for 3am and it did feel a lot like the rejects to me. We’ll see on this one.
