Yeah, agreed. Love B, love this album. But only delusional Beyhive stans thought this was gonna do anything at the CMA's. I think one of the main points of this album was to show the resistance it would be met with. So the point was kinda proven, but it loses all impact because she hasn't been present. And the Post Malone and Shaboozey cross-over success dulls her point as well. She literally launched the latter with this album, lol. Just shows that maybe, just maybe, if she had actually tried, she could have made a bigger dent.

But with her complete and utter lack of effort in promoting, selling or discussing her artistry, she'll be lucky to take a Grammy home for this in any category. Just a dumb album campaign and total waste.

I agree with this. Her basically becoming a recluse and shutting media out of her life worked with Self Titled and Lemonade because she let the music and the visuals be the portal through what was going on in her life (pregnancy and how it changed her mindset, the relationship turmoil, etc.).

Renaissance didn't need the media either because it was a Dance album and she's always been associated with Dance music one way or another. The visuals could've elevated it but the album mostly sucked nnn.

With this kind of project she should've put that aside to really do the rounds and discuss what led her to make this type of record at this point in her life and career. When you just throw it out to the world and be done with it, it might work for the first few weeks for hype and word of mouth but then you really have to sell it.

One could also argue that the music should speak for itself and it does, because it was a great album. But when you venture outside of your lane, you should make sure people get it 100% imo.

She at least toured with RENAISSANCE and at the current moment, it doesn't look like there are plans for her to tour COWBOY CARTER.

I read that entire article and didn't read one quote from Bryan about Beyonce not making videos. What I did see is him basically say she needs to go to country awards shows and high five people. Of course, we all know she did join with The Chicks to perform at a country awards show and was of course not well-received by many.

Having said that, voters for industry awards are of course more likely to vote for people they know and like. That's true across all awards, and it seems to be particularly true in the country music industry. I didn't expect Beyonce to get any CMA nods, but I also wish artists like Luke Bryan would be more straight up about the issues that most certainly exist in the country music industry. We all know there are clear biases against both women and nonwhites in the country industry.

LOL that's because there wasn't a quote from Luke about Beyonce not making videos, nor did I say there was. Not entirely sure why I needed to be challenged. My point stands. The industry is a game. Beyonce, more than most living artists, knows this full well, being in the business since she was literally a child. If she chooses not to play by not engaging in any way with the country audience or its players, she should expect and accept the consequences. I believe she is fine with it, but if Jay-Z jumps out and starts crowing about how unfair it is his wife got shunned, it's just a deflection, at this point.

For one, your post literally referenced Luke's statements, and you said you agreed and then went on to discuss the lack of videos as an example. You were the one who tied them together, so it was 100% rational for me to address the point in that way. Secondly, this is a messageboard and this "challenges" are going to happen. This is very well put and made me realize how much this album really was begging for her to do the more traditional promo rounds/videos/performances game she hasn’t played in so long. It’s simply a much different situation than all of the other post 4 albums. And I’ve beaten this dead horse, but I maintain it DID have mainstream hit potential unlike anything since IASF from her, so it sure would’ve been nice for her to leverage it.
