I truly don’t think there is another example of a legitimate one hit wonder on the charts coming back to score their first #1 a full decade later. I was thinking of someone like Mike Posner, but even then it was only a 6 year gap and he was never really a one hit wonder since his breakout album had two hits.

man as much as hozier has a big fanbase i was NOT expecting him to have another mainstream hit, especially one that not only looks like it might surpass take me to church but one that was essentially huge from the start, debuting top 5 and everything

i do think he's likely benefiting from the success of the noah kahans, the teddy swims, etc as of late but still. hopefully he can parlay this into even more hits !

Robin Thicke - Lost Without You 2007, Blurred Lines 2013, but yea this one is only 6 years too, compared to Hozier which was almost 10 years.

That’s definitely the best comp I’ve seen so far. Robin Thicke was for sure a one hit wonder before BL became a massive #1 years later. But gap still not as big as you said… and a complete and total lack of help from any other popular artists here like BL at the time.
