I assume they will just let this song do its thing until the BB Hot 100 is full of Christmas music and then maybe move to Down Bad or another song in January.  This song still has life in it and like all songs, especially at radio and streaming, acts as an ad for the album for those who still might not have it.

I think if you added up the catchiness of all 31 tracks combined, you still wouldn’t be at 50% of Cruel Summer’s hookiness. But that’s me.

To be honest MBOBHFT would have been the best 1st single choice. With Down Bad being 2nd, and I Can Do It being 3rd. Then she could have released anything as the 4th single and it would have worked.

I adore 'My Boy' and I prefer it over Fortnight and definitely ICDIWABH (which is one of my least favourites singles of hers ever tbh). But the streaming numbers, despite it being 3rd on the tracklist, are lacklustre in comparison to other options. It didn't connect with the majority of fans or the general public the way that Guilty As Sin, So long London, WAOLOM & Down Bad did. I think it's a more interesting lead than Fortnight but I just can't imagine it does any better than the Post Malone feature. I think the real mistake was letting Fortnight linger for too long, they should've given it a push week once it hit #7 and then moved straight away to either this or Down Bad. So High School would be a nice final single but I don't know if we really get much out of another single at this point, I think we're past the point of this album needing more.

I think this will hang on in the Hot until the Christmas songs take over.  Another reason why I doubt they's move on to another single.  Nov is when the charts get more and more clogged with Christmas songs and by Dec, nearly all of it.

^ quite an update! I hope they don't keep this afloat for months and months longer.

On an unrelated note, while I know a third single won't do much in terms of performance from the album, as we're too deep into an era (not seemingly made with strong radio singles in mind) and with the 6 million threshold quickly approaching most are already familiar with the album's material, it would make sense to push another single for the fall to coincide with the US return of her 2nd Eras Tour leg over the next few months. Given everything Taylor (from old albums to streaming) recieves a commercial boost from her touring domestically, it would be smart to have a song out and ready to benefit from its ongoing buzz and given the tie-in with the return of football season with their steadfast very public relationship, I could absolutely see "So High School" middling its way to a respectable peak, especially with the right video and given it's housed on The Anthology, a much lesser streamed/discovered side of the album with a lot of room for growth. I also feel like "So High School" was also one of the more catchier songs upon release (in particular the chorus and infamous "Grand theft auto" line) and for some reason I feel like it's different from the rest of the album because it's going to be the style most reflective of where she goes next (as she so often does with the newer songs written on her projects).
