Justin had Despacito, Katy had Con Calma, Beyonce had Mi Gente. Could Taylor pull off Reggaeton and better yet, would the public positively receive it?

lol why not? I think she would actually pull it off! I mean we kinda already got it with Willow (Reggaeton Mix) and it was positively received.

The critics and the public would drag her mercilessly, but Swifties would send it to #1.

The only remix with actual impact would be Despacito. With that said, I think it would be very off brand for her

Maybe one summery midtempo song inspired by it would be ok, but a whole album or full blown attempt at the genre? No.
The problem is Reggaeton is rooted heavily around the culture and geographic locations it is from, and Taylor has nothing to do with any of it.

I looked up what this "reggaeton remix" was because I'd never heard of it. It turns out this isn't even an official remix, this is just a fan remix that had a reggaeton beat beneath Taylor mixed with two reggaeton verses from other songs. This is no different than those videos where they put trap or drill beats on pop songs. If this was an actual remix, it would get roasted to hell. Even in the case of Taylor working with a Latin/Hispanic act, I don't even think it would be in Spanish. Not to mention, there's more to Latin Music than just reggaeton and there are a number folk and singer-songwriters who fit more.
