Just watched the video and it's underwhelming. Given what the song's about, couldn't she at least have been pulled towards someone? I was waiting for the video to lead up to something but then...nothing. It's a shame really, her music this era is so good. I wish the visuals could match the quality of the music and be more cinematic. Yes, I know that music videos don't have the pull they once had but the music this era really deserves so much better.

^ Yeah. I get tired of the notion music videos are only and can only be about boosting commercial performance of the single. Like, obviously I get it's the reason they were likely invented and their main use for the most part, but they absolutely are an extension of self-expression and of the art itself and so much more than that. I love the way Gaga and a few other artists go out of their way, even out of pocket, to finance their vision and take their videos just as seriously as they do their albums, because they understand it's all representative of their craft. If you're a true artist who values their artistic output, why wouldn't you make sure you videos always pass a certain personal threshold and not just simply throwout whatever? Especially when it acts as companion to extraordinarily well-crafted music. It's like building a beautiful home and painting it puke green. I'm not saying the video for this is terrible, just that it could have added so much more to the song and era collectively.
