okay gonna come in here with a few hot takes -- a: lunch is way more of an obvious hit then this and i'm honestly quite surprised this has surpassed it this early, b: i kind of want this to not overtake lunch quite yet so as many stations as possible will feel goaded into playing such an explicitly sapphic song (considering some of the bizzare edits certain stations are playing it sounds like they're very much trying to work their way out of this one) and c: this is actually having a pretty high burn rate on me

granted the latter is a problem with most of the album, not just this one (it applies to lunch too) and i'm still rooting for it overall, but yea

Honestly I don't think LUNCH being a sapphic song hurt it; this is just much more universal in it's message and catchy and memorable in a different way than LUNCH so people just latched on to it. I think both can do well simultaneously.

For me personally I initially thought I liked “Lunch” better, but this slid into my favorite from Billie’s latest release.
It’s very pretty, but not dreary.
Not that much of this album is.
This is definitely a song I could see having a very low burn rate.
It definitely doesn’t sound like a Billie song to me, but I’ve only been into a few of her songs so I could be absolutely wrong. Lol

Yeah, this is a new sound and a different singing from her, i've been seeing a lot of people surprised when they discovered it was a Billie song |o| And she said this song almost didn't make the final cut on the album

Lunch is nowhere near underperforming, i was skeptical about its performance on radio for obvious reasons, but the song is still TOP 10 in the US Spotify and Global with almost 7M daily. At the end of the day it will another 1 billion song for Billie.

Well, like someone said, this song is a career defining , GP already chose it from the beginning, like Dark Horse, so they started to replace Lunch with Birds Of A Feather on the playlists, giving it better positions.
