god i'm SO curious what the radio edits sound like for this one, especially on the format like pop where "she dances on my tongue" is apperently too much for many stations. i have to imagine there's no way pedophile makes the airwaves ,,,, right ? does A MINORRRR ? There's at least one radio edit that takes out "little sister" and "like 'em young" but keeps "pedophile".
The BBC Radio edit is a mess - the first time they played it they contextualized it by playing the entirety of the beef with a disclaimer (and kept all the references except censoring the word 'predator' randomly). The one they play now cuts out all the references besides "A minorrrrrrrr" (though they don't edit LUNCH, so shout out to the UK?).
Is there any recording of them playing all the beef tracks? It genuinely sounds like a very interesting and really funny move for a BBC station lol.

They have archives of all their recent radio shows on their iPlayer website I think. But they only go back maybe a month or something so it could be gone by now? It's not unusual for the BBC radio stations. They are funded by the public rather than advertisers, so they can do weird things like that if they want to, and frequently do. They can play nothing but 2011 songs for an hour, or drum & bass songs for an hour, or 3 Jessie J songs in a row, or a Christmas song in the summer, whatever really. They don't need to worry about call out scores or anything, at least not to the extent of commercial stations. BBC Radio 1 currently has live performances of Sabrina Carpenter on their playlist for example.

Not that this needs pop whatsoever, as it's already a cultural behemoth and has made its mark on history, but I would love to just see it crossover and get even bigger (if that's possible). Like I know it's stingy, but I want 10 weeks at #1 on the Hot 100. 🙏🏼 lol

Gotta enjoy it while he can, most likely his last CHR appearance besides a feature or if he changes his sound to more like this

Who knows later on if he makes another big song or can be one that is pop leaning like All The Stars. Anything can happen.

So I wouldn't "count" that. But like I said, unless he changes his style to more songs like this, he isn't really relevant on CHR. He should thank Drake really lol

He didn't have to make a song like "Not Like Us," and Drake isn't a credited writer on the song, so I don't get this sentiment at all. You act as if making these microwavable pop hits is something hard to do. Kendrick proved that he can do it if he wanted to... anytime.

Yeah and the only reason he got any attention with because of the battle with Drake.

Yeah and the only reason he got any attention with because of the battle with Drake. Pretty sure Kendrick would have gotten attention either way. He is not some underground artist. He has mult-platinum songs and albums, numerous accolades, etc. If Kendrick (or anyone) wanted to make a quick pop record, they could. Kendrick proved that with this song. You're giving Drake too much credit when Drake hasn't had a huge solo hit this big in years and his current collaborations have been flopping.

What is this that pop radio attention is some pinnacle of artist success?

This is just a fucking great song, period. I think it's the frontrunner for Best Rap Song, and SHOULD beat Houdini.
