while I prefer both those songs too, this is obviously the right choice as it is streaming the best and is predicted to reach top 30 on hot 100 this week

yeah i second those saying that red wine supernova is a better choice + it isn't that far behind this one on the hot 100 ,,,, hopefully that's coming third but i worry it may already be too well known by that point

that said this is coming from someone whose least favorite among the half dozen or so chappel roan songs blowing up rn is this and whose favorite (along with casual) is red wine supernova so take this with a grain of salt; as others have stated i do actually think the verses of this are quite strong (albeit likely to be polarizing amongst the gp). honestly i think chappel roan is the rare pop artist who is better at verses then hooks ,,,, can yall think of any other examples of this in the poposphere ?

This one may not be the song with the best radio prospects (I could see it being polarizing and some could consider it gimmicky), but it’s absolutely the smash hit from this album and there’s no questioning why radio is picking it up a little bit. There’s plenty of other songs that are heavily connecting too though, but this is everywhere I turn on TikTok and it’s been ahead of RWS in streaming for awhile now.

I could see a push of something other than this, but I don’t think they could really go wrong with pushing almost anything from the album as a next single. Part of me is thinking we won’t get a radio single from Midwest Princess though and we’ll get a new song in a little while that they’ll push as a follow up. Either way, excited to see what comes next for Chappell. Hoping for a big budget GLB video soon.

I don't think "they" did anything. The entire year-old album is blowing up and this is organically the best performing track.
