Idk why these two have been putting out the same dull ballads for over half a decade. We get it, Leave The Door Open and Shallow were hits. Drop something uptempo like Gen Z's artists have been having success with. Greedy, Espresso, Good Luck Babe...etc I mean there was various sounds on Bruno's album and Gaga's last album was dance pop. Clearly the public is here for this sound from both of them as that's why it's doing well on multiple platforms. I'm sure once we get their solo singles they'll have something you're looking for. You may be right, but I totally disagree. No one cares (who determine the Hot 100) what these 40 year olds playing dress-up is up to. They are old now! This is AC crap!

They can't even formulate proper sentences much less make any sense. Reporting and keeping it pushing. I really came in this thread open-minded, really, but I'm soooo confused rn. and I don't know if my lack of sleep is to blame or not.

Bruno has been milking this 70's funk style thing since Uptown Funk and Gaga was finally doing something uptempo again with Chromatica after that snoozefest Joane album and the movie soundtrack, only to do this song....Really. come on man.

I’m not kidding around here. I’ve followed the charts like a total loser and nerd since the late 90s. Excel Spreadsheets “live from the basement.” But being real. What we’ve been seeing going on the charts the past few years is beyond insane. I asked for numbers and stats and examples in the other thread you made about this and am still waiting. I should also mention that saying "no way people are liking this song" (aka, "I don't like this song") doesn't fit in these types of discussions.

That's literally one song (which is a hell of a lot catchier than this) and he changes genres almost every album. This is the exact same sound from Bruno's lasts project w/ Silk Sonic and could fit right in on Gaga's soundtrack album that is now over 6 years old...do something new. Post Malone was doing country/rock covers during peak Covid 4 years ago. There is no "trend" for him

Like I said, it appears like Gaga is teasing more upbeat stuff for her own album. It'll come. I also think the boring for people under 45 thing is a little baseless, considering the song has gone viral on TikTok, which is primarily used by young people.

All this talk about how Gen Z and "under 45's" don't like this song with no evidence to back it up.
Meanwhile new viral TikToks are being posted daily. The most liked one in the past week has nearly 5M likes and 40M views. The sound is in the Viral 50 sound chart on the app. I guess it's just a bunch of boomers using the sound and not Gen Z. Would Pulse Music Board users No Brake$ and mccloud lie?

I mean it's clearly working for him when he just changed genres and is opening with 250k units. I don't think coming for the artists in people's avatars is a good look, he has nothing to do with this thread.

Just stating the obvious here.
I really appreciate this debate for chart dorks like myself. I really think you are amazing people and would love just once an evening hanging out with lunatics who follow charts.
When it’s all said and done, in 2024, I believe you can buy a Top 10 hit on the Hot 100 easier than ever before.

Also, it is not easier than ever before to buy a Top 10. That peaked during the midst of the BTS craze a few years ago and finally Billboard cracked down on mass buying. Another claim by you that has no evidence to support it.

As a data point, I know a Gen-Z Hooters waitress (a Swiftie) and at her request, we were looking for this song in TouchTunes (the restaurant’s jukebox app) to play, but unfortunately we were disappointed that it wasn’t loading new songs yet. The Gen-Z Bruno/Gaga ballad fans are out there!

Easier than ever before not even a question.
So many songs not in recurrent because well, they aren’t good songs.
Remember that bozo last year who went #1 complaining about life in Appalachia? That’s all you need to know.
Streaming is a total joke.

It's clearly working for Bruno, since he's allergic to flop. I say, go ahead, milk that sound until you can, older people will obviously like it (and they have streaming platforms now too), younger gen will think of it as something 'refreshing', 'classis' and 'good different' when compared to today's 'trendy' music. That was one of the main reasons why Adele sold zillions of copies, she didn't invent that genre or style, but 21 sounded nothing like popular music in 2011, and it appealed to every generation, ballads and retro music aren't reserved for 45+ only.

When reality is against you, it's time to give up. Looking forward to you having to hear the song and about the song constantly for the next few months. Assuming you go outside.

Allergic to flop? Have not heard anything on radio or anywhere besides “Uptown Funk” from him in like ten years. That failed goofball 70’s R&B thing…Silk Sonic? Total disaster. Why you think he is 50M in debt? Seriously.

I do run marathons. I did attend a Chappel Roan concert, I do have kids, and I did go to a HS football game this weekend. Loser Central.

Jimin's song, has clear evidence of fraud which I and many other members here have discussed. Fortnight debuted high because of Taylor's fanbase and ALL her lead singles since WANEGBT have debuted high but then flopped because the GP didn't like it. So many lead singles perform like that. Katy and Coldplay's latest singles are streaming and Pop radio bombs? What does that have to do with DWAS, a song clearly doing well on streaming and aiming to do well on radio? Explain.

This is going to follow the same lead as Katy and Coldplay in three weeks. It’s the same crap.
You can call me out in 20 days if it’s different.
I already got Charli XCX fans mad (sadly, Apple is one of my favorites of the year, but 360 also a radio payola job)

Why are you acting like it had stellar debut week numbers like DWAS and then fizzled out? It never started. It currently has 29M on Spotify after 45 days. DWAS has amassed 64M in 9 days. They are not comparable. It makes me wonder how data driven your predictions are if you're saying DWAS will end up like Woman's World when they did not have a similar start. WW was a bomb to begin with. It bombed on streaming. Bombed on radio. What comparison are you trying to make exactly?

Also, without DWAS, he currently has 4 songs in the top 150 on Spotify chart: When I Was Your Man, Locked Out Of Heaven, Just The Way You Are and That's What I Like.

Come on. Talking about post-Uptown Funk.
That’s What I Like is played less than the Macarena these days.
24K ______ is played less than Creed on Top 40.
Again. There’s reason why BM is 50M in debt.
