Maybe they are just preemptively assuming it’s locked for the #1 this week? That is a bit odd for them though. And yeah, I was wondering if there had been a longer gap than 13 years. Typically 10 years or so is the cap it seems like we see between smashes for an artist on the format. Though Cher would have a near 30 year gap between CHR #1s if Believe had just peaked 1 spot higher. Edit: nevermind, saw above post.
Also, now I’m really irritated HAC isn’t on it after seeing how close it looks like it’s going to come to ABS again for the next hot 100. The extra airplay boost if HAC had it perched at the top too rn could maybe make the difference.

the Billboard pop radio cutoff day is Thursday and last Thursday Billie was #1 on Billboard despite Hozier having the #1 on Mediabase . it seems Billboard did not give it to Hozier again. anyway great news for both Gaga and Bruno.they are both on the list of most #1 songs at Pop. 13, Taylor Swift 11, Maroon 5 11, Katy Perry 11, Rihanna 10, Justin Bieber 10, Ariana Grande 10, Bruno Mars 9, P!nk 8, Doja Cat 8, Lady Gaga 8, Justin Timberlake 7, Beyoncé |

Billboard's panel is different from the one we monitor; it seems Gaga and Bruno were lucky enough that the stations on Billboard's panel favoured DWAS this week and they got more spins than Hozier. They're gonna get the Mediabase #1 anyway, so it should be a moot point.

Still can't believe ROM peaked at #10 though, and with Ariana attached to the song. Why did Pop radio snub Gaga so much in the past decade?

ROM CHR performance will remain baffling. Best guesses are they felt “burned” by finally being willing to give her a chance again for the first time in years with Stupid Love, and that killed most of her momentum she had there for the era. And maybe they felt Ari was too saturated at the time, and they didn’t need to spin another obvious hit from her.
On another note, it’s kinda crazy how much of a non-entity Bruno has been on CHR for the last 6 years. Even less so than Gaga in that frame. Of course, having no solo album doesn’t help.

Maybe ROM lyrics had too much despair at a time of the pandemic? I mean it’s hopeful but “at least I’m alive” could’ve been a bit brash at a time when we were keeping stats of the number of people dying every day…

Rain On Me despite peaking at only #10 at Pop reached #3 at Hot AC and #11 at AC . surprising when the song seemed more fit for Pop that it might be for those formats.

Oh no don’t get me wrong, of course it doesn’t matter if it gets multi-weeks at the top, but as a chart watcher along with being a Gaga fan, wanted to see if it would continue at the top. I am elated that this track has become Gaga’s 8th #1. Didn’t know that she had back to back 6 songs top CHR during her beginning. What a legend! |

I’m most curious now to see just how high this will go on the all time spotify list. With its consistently huge numbers for months now, it seems almost a certainty to end up way up there. Maybe it can even vanquish the evil that is Dance Monkey and end up the biggest female song on spotify (though still wouldn’t hold the solo female record).

120 days (Dance Monkey) seems impossible because it would need to hold on until January to achieve that (considering Christmas songs will take a week no matter what).
Also, the 2 points difference on Hot 100 prediction.... this is destined to fall short there as well :(
