I tried listening to this a few times today but can't get into it. It's way too Silk Sonic sounding for me, which I never cared for versus normal Bruno Mars stuff. That Silk Sonic sound is the best part for me. I love the throwback to that Motown sound. Best era of music. I was never a huge Bruno fan until he recorded with Silk Sonic. Then I was like omg this is what modern music needs.

Yes, but fun pop gaga can’t (and yet to) be beat. IMO ☺️ Thats the beautiful thing about art, it's subjective and the only person Gaga has to answer to at this point is her career is herself. right. Not saying otherwise.

Imagine if Madonna or David Bowie had done only certain type of music throughout their careers.

This is classic Bruno Mars, I missed his voice and Gaga's too. I hope this is a huge hit, such a nice relaxing end of the summer vibe.

Imagine if Madonna or David Bowie had done only certain type of music throughout their careers. well Madonna has made amazing music throughout most of her career. Madonna was also making trends (and changing the pop landscape) decades into her career. Not a lot of artists have been able to do that so well and for so long.

I like this. I won't go out of my way to listen to it, but I like it! They pair so well together, it's almost like how did a collaboration like this never happen until now? Just imagine how much bigger this same song would have been 10-15 years ago.
I actually think this fits in well with Gaga songs like "Million Reasons" and "Always Remember Us This Way." As for Bruno, this is maybe his first ballad that doesn't double as an ambien for me.

Actually really enjoying this. I will say it benefits for me that it doesn’t seem like it’s the LG7 lead (I’m still not purpose exactly this serves lol) but it’s a great duet! They sound incredible and it’s a well written song.

Long-time lurker here (and huge Gaga stan), and gotta say this is phenomenal. It has an effortless “instant classic that’s existed for decades” vibe going on. I find on the rare times I get that from a new song, it’s usually a sure fire smash. I will even go ahead and say this is going to be her biggest CHR hit since 2011, or at the very least Applause in 2013. Only needs a #9 peak for the latter to happen, and Bruno gives it a massive edge to easily do that.
I also think odds are high for ROTY/SOTY win at the Grammys. Bruno is THE Grammy darling among current male artists, and this song is as Grammy bait as it gets. They knew exactly what they were doing getting this one out just in time for the cutoff. All we’re waiting on now is how big of a hit it is, since huge success would basically lock the ROTY/SOTY for this imo.
Edit: *forgot DWUW actually managed to climb to #7 on CHR after Applause (kinda shocking tbh), so needs to beat that for her biggest CHR hit since 2013.

Another end-of-the-world song. Hmm. I wonder if Bruno heard Ari's "Intro (End of the World)" and came up with this? Speaking of which, I hope Bruno and Ari collaborate at some point. Hey Bruno, didn't you hear "Cadillac Song" ( link) ? She (and Victoria Monet) was doing Motown even before your SilkSonic phase!!! Full video from last night (quality could be better though):

It's a very nice song although it's not something I personally will be playing over and over again. It's a solid addition to their respective discographies.
Curious to see how it does on the charts and radio.

The reaction over there by a lot of posters is eye-rolling to say the least. Bruno isn't very well liked over there either. I mostly frequent PJ for the re-issues thread, but make the mistake of wandering out sometimes.

Yep, and they are so out of touch what makes successful pop hit these days lol
They are also so dramatic with every song like artists careers depend on them. Gaga has been going through a movie career and two jazz albums, she can very well release a Bruno Mars duet and continue from there.

Decent # on AM (#44), almost 24h after the release. If I have to guess Spotify's numbers: 2.5M US, 7M WW.

Nice song. Hope it does well and happy we will get new albums from Bruno and Gaga. Been too long! This is also the kind of duet Grammy loves. They were smart to work together so they get more chances of play and streaming.

Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga are great in their own so when you combine them it's like Peanut butter and jelly 😋. I was little skeptical of a ballad. The weather is too hot for a ballad, I wanted something up tempo and fun from them but this is not a slow ballad and they did that.
I really enjoyed it on my first listen. In a landscape of questionable talent it's nice to see two unquestionably talented people make a song together

Fine numbers, kinda expected more from Spotify, but I should've lowered my expectations. These are their biggest Spotify debuts:
Rain On Me
WW: #1 6.74M US: #1 2.23M
Stupid Love
WW: #6 4.23M US: #2 1.52M
Leave The Door Open
WW: #6 3.82M US: #4 1.76M
