This song is an instant classic in my book. I was skeptical and have high standards for both of them. But this song is a home run. Grammys are secured. Assuming this becomes a huge hit, which I’d anticipate, we’ll be looking at Bruno gathering his fourth ROTY award and third SOTY. I was floored when I heard it. Simple premise, executed so well.
It’s also notable because this song works, I believe, in part from the collaborators they worked with in DMile, who Bruno has worked with before, and Andrew Watt, one of the top producers/writers out there. Those guitars have DMile written all over them, and when you combine with the clean shine Watt gives the drums, it’s magic. The arrangement is superb, and the production is just so so good. Just amazing. I love both artists but wouldn’t consider myself a stan of either. But I’ll be stanning this song.

This has the potential to be SOTY. If it was 2016 it would definitely happen but it's 2024 so we'll see what happens. So far, it's off to a great start.

A solid effort. Nothing to bag on the recording for. It does sound like a silk sonic track.
I wish I had first heard it audio-only, no video. I may have liked it more without the costume/role-play aspect of it. gaga can be very high school play when it comes to performance/visuals. in a way that doesn't help me love it.

Is this the first single off of LG7? A new Bruno album? Jokers soundtrack? Regardless, this is an unexpected but delightful collab. I have a feeling this’ll get featured on both of their upcoming albums. She confirmed it’s not attached to LG7. Seems unclear about Joker, but I would lean towards yes. The lyrics fit perfectly with the movie essentially being a Harley/Joker love story where both characters are doomed, and the way she almost has a subtle clown look going on with her eyelashes/eye makeup in the video points towards Joker related imo. Thank you! I didn’t know that, And I’d agree put it being for joker, but I’d imagine if it were for Joker, they’d surely advertise that?! |

I don't remember the last time Bruno's single had such a strong start. DWAS is doing great at streaming and he's always struggled in that department. Gaga was very uneven in it also. Give this song 2 proper televised performances and it'll be ecerything it needs.

I still don’t think this is for Joker (just absolutely no way they wouldn’t have already announced it), but 100% agree. If I was on the Joker production, I’d be trying to secure rights asap for this as the closing credits song. However, if they aren’t making a play for this, I’m willing to bet they have a big Gaga song ready to go. |

Tbh, this song was a smart move for both Gaga and Bruno and I think it works best as a stand-alone single. It reminds everyone of their places in the pop landscape and it makes sure there is good will for whenever both Gaga and Bruno drop the lead single for LG7 and BM4, respectively.

There's no way a song with this title was just randomly created when she has a Joker musical coming out, lol. At the very least, it was made with the film in mind and excluded because it didn't fit and Gaga and Bruno didn't want to waste it.
The press releases for the film do say it's gonna feature a new song or two. So I'd be shocked if she doesn't have an original song. It's way too easy a play for awards.

From the Variety article, it doesn’t seem like it’s for Joker since Bruno Mars was the one that started it. Wouldn’t be surprised if it eventually got added though, especially if it does really well. Maybe they'll release an album like Dick Tracy album Madonna released back in the day, not the official soundtrack but music inspired bythe movie. Gaga can release a Joker-inspired album that would be used in movie as well.

My theory is that Gaga wants this to "tease" the mood of the movie (which is labeled as a musical of a sort) without the song being attached to it, that's why she agreed to release it now in the first place (and of course it's perfect song and meets the Grammy deadline).

Listened to this a couple times and for now, there isn't any stand-out part of the song that immediately hooks me in or leaves a strong impression. There's no part that really sticks in my head and makes me remember what the song sounds like.
That said, it's a very nice, pleasant song. Both Bruno and Gaga sound fantastic on it and every time I do listen to it, it makes me feel oddly nostalgic and happy, if that makes any sense. It's like a warm hug in song form.

This streaming trajectory so far is showing major signs of major smash incoming. Just give it some time to build and I think this can get the #1 on the h100 (would be ecstatic if it can on CHR for her too, it’s been 84 years).
