"The Logical Song" and "I Want You to Want Me" could have gone further (as could "Sultans of Swing" yesterday). It seems there's a rock tax in effect in this rankdown.
As remaining songs go, "Le Freak" and "I Will Survive" are really good, but I was sort of hoping they'd leave in the 11-20 range. Not surprised they're still here, though. The other top 10 songs are all incredible and would make great winners.

I'm glad "The Logical Song" made it as far as it did, I actually wasn't expecting that!
I now only have one more top 10 left & it's my #1 lmao

Kinda surprised Got To Be Real missed? The other 2 of my top 10s I had no expectations for but that one really felt like a lock to me
1 2 3 4 7 8 10 16 19 24
Expected most of these to make top 10 - honestly this list is excellent. Everything left is at least an 8/10 or higher, though would love if something in my top 10 won since those are all 9 or 10s

What an amazing top 10. I can be sad about some songs missing but I can't complain about any of the songs that made it. I hope we keep going back btw. These old lists are so fascinating to me

I'M every woman would be in my top 5 here. That song is peak Chaka Khan and peak Disco. 1 3 7 9 11 16 17 24 28 47 1979 is the best year for disco and one of the best years for music in general and the top 10 shows it [this top 10 has all songs over 7/10 and at least 5 10/10 in my books]

20. Knock On Wood - Amii Stewart Thunder, Lightning, and Laserbeams. You can't get more Disco than this.
19. Ring My Bell - Anita Ward Funny how these first two songs are from the pile that I remember most from my childhood. Both very different sounding and yet both very Disco.
18. We Are Family - Sister Sledge I can imagine the ladies at Studio 54 banding together in sisterhood when this jam graced the dancefloor.
17. What a Fool Believes - The Doobie Brothers I know these guys had countless hits, but this one and "Real Love" are the ones that have made the most impact on me.
16. The Logical Song - Supertramp and this would be my favorite Supertramp song. Means one more Rock song left. Two if you count Blondie.
15. I Want You To Want Me - Cheap Trick Rock held its banner high, but it's lights out with this classic bowing out. I'm actually quite pleased with this ranking. Of course mine was #5, but it is what it is. Favorite Cheap Trick song of mine is still "Surrender".
14. Got To Be Real - Cheryl Lynn I've always loved this one. Ironically after dishing out such classics, Cheryl, Amii, and Anita were all One hit wonders.
13. I Want Your Love - Chic Who would have thought chimes would become such a staple in Disco music. I know "le Freak" is more popular. I ranked it higher myself, but this is still a better written song.
12. Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground) - The Jacksons I had a feeling most of us would slot both MJ and his brothers in the top 20. I'm right there with you. 100% pure, irresistible ,dance music done right.
11. Boogie Wonderland - Earth, Wind & Fire w/The Emotions One of the amazing things about this band's music was the brass element. Just missed my top 20 to give "September" the slot. yeah this is a dance classic. If you don't boogie to this one than you are either A. in a wheelchair or B. deaf. 'nuff said.
extras:
I'm more familiar with "I'm Every Woman - Chaka Khan", than the other song, and just like with Let's Go" it's kinda odd to see it missed Billboard's Top 100 of 1979. I wonder how high this one would have slotted?

The Top 10:
Bad Girls - Donna Summer Le Freak - Chic I Will Survive - Gloria Gaynor Hot Stuff - Donna Summer Heart Of Glass - Blondie Good Times - Chic He's The Greatest Dancer - Sister Sledge What You Won't Do For Love - Bobby Caldwell September - Earth, Wind & Fire Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough - Michael Jackson
Which of these classics will take home the crown? And there's still a bottom 10 out there, where will it land?
Most of these are not surprising Top 10 candidates. Except Bobby Caldwell. Seems like the black sheep here. Also I wasn't familiar with this song until an 80's New Wave duo covered it in the 90's. More on that tomorrow night.
Michael Jackson is awesome here, but I believe we will be crowning a woman this time around. Possibly something HOTT or maybe even a blonde.

I get that it might be very very overplayed sometimes still especially on classic stations but it’s still amazing and great.
