LGG is an eternal icon sort of like a Cher-type and will just go on and on and on. She has done, or will do, Movies, Broadway, Albums, Tours, TV, you name it. LGG does it all and does it all so well! She is a well-rounded performer who ooooozes talent. Disease is another Top 40 for her and I am sure will be Top 10! I love it more with every listen!

What exactly is Britany’s legacy-cementing era? Femme Fatale? She was only 30 years old and her next 3-4 albums were bombs. It was BLACKOUT honey So you disagree that Britney has great legacy? 🤔

Early call outs are bad. So I'm thinking it's going to follow streaming. Source?

I’m curious as how this rise compares to “Stupid Love” so far. I remember radio was supportive of that one right away as well and brought it to #11 pretty quickly, but I don’t think it was as quick on that as it has been so far on “Disease” (knowing also that spin totals are lower but comparatively speaking, obviously).
If no one else does it, I’ll dig back later today or this week and compare.
——————
Also, full disclosure, this isn’t a post of hope. I fully expect this to top out at around #13 or something. I don’t see it making top 10 so the haters and leonagwen can save their time with their attempts at dashing the hope they think I have.

I think people are missing the point with the chart discussion. When people say they want a song to have chart success they're not talking about some vague notion of a large number and the song making a lot of money. The billboard hot 100 chart is not just a chart made up of random songs, in order to get & sustain a hit on the chart you need to have some sort of cultural relevance, even for a brief moment. Hits are almost never sustained on a single metric, and even one hit wonders are usually representative of a genre or trend that's upcoming.

When people come into threads just to call flop it’s — weird. Think about it — that’s your personality.
No, thanks.

There’s also nothing wrong with being optimistic or being happy about the metrics it is doing well on. The fat lady hasn’t sung yet, so who knows how this will end up.

Do you have anything better to do? Like... at all? You have to admitt this is a massive flop. DUA Lipa's promo single debut at #29. Can you respectfully fuck off? How are you not banned for continuously trolling every Gaga thread!

What exactly is Britany’s legacy-cementing era? Femme Fatale? She was only 30 years old and her next 3-4 albums were bombs. I’d say it was the 1-2-3 punch of Blackout through FF in her case. BO of course is considered her magnum opus, but when it came out it wasn’t particularly successful past some first week single iTunes sales. But then Circus put her back on top commercially in a massive way only a year later, causing many of her newfound fanbase to check out the still fairly new BO, hence building upon its legacy it has today. And then Circus was further followed by the nearly as commercially successful FF, so by that point she was definitively a multi-generational pop icon for the ages. Whereas we see how with Xtina’s big success stopping (relatively) early in after album 3, her legacy has never achieved anything near Brit’s today. And the crazy thing is that Xtina was pretty neck and neck with her if we compare them through just sophomore albums. Gaga is honestly one of the strangest cases in that those first two years were just so monumental, and then the decline, but never truly falling out of relevancy entirely. Xtina stayed huge for like 3x longer than Gaga, but then did indeed fall out of relevancy entirely. I def think the more “mature” route of something like ASIB was well-timed with the aging gen that made her a superstar. But ultimately I don’t think it brought her to the young gens in a big way, like something like Brit’s Circus era. If anything, it made her have a much larger Gen X and even Boomer fandom, which may have been very minimal prior. I’ve felt a combo of SL being a bad lead single + COVID ruined Chromatica potentially being that one more big mainstream pop era for her I’ve been saying I really want. I would have loved to have seen the Chromatica era that was something like 1)Rain on Me 2) Free Woman 3/4) Enigma/Replay + no COVID. But that’s a whole other topic.

Wasn’t it expected to debut at #18 a couple days ago? Now it’s back down to 28? also, #1 on TTH seems to have had a negative effect. It debuted at #27. It would have been higher if Tyler The Creator didn't have an album drop.

So pro tip: If you stop replying to posts you feel are disruptive, they are likely to stop.
Having said that, it's not a good idea to crash into threads like a bull in a china shop. I am not here to excuse bad behavior (but I would ask people don't indirectly encourage it either). We got a few in the queue (iykyk) so let's all kiss and make up while staff handles things thanks we love u!!!

A top 30 hit!
Should've been released on the 18th, but it's too late now - let's enjoy the success even if it's slightly milder than expected.

Just to put things into perspective and have the transparent haters foam at mouth, this debuted at #14 on Global 200 and #13 on Global 200 without US. People thinking that its flopping globally have no clue or understanding how charts work.
Billboard Global 200: 14 (New) Disease
Billboard Global 200 Excl. US 13 (New) Disease

I’m happy with how this is moving. It’ll probably get caught up in the freeze on radio and get extra exposure for a while. We don’t need another single until 2025, IMO.

Spotify US #101 (-11) Disease Apple Music US - Will this even chart next week on the Hot 100? Of course it will. Because one, Spotify and Apple Music aren't the only music streaming services. And two, streaming isn't the only thing they use for the charts, as they also take into account song sales and radio airplay.
