To be realistic, I could not see this doing even as well as Padam on radio here. Maybe top 40 at best, but wouldn’t it be thrilling to see Kylie sneak in for a few weeks again?

This is solid, video is excellent. I can't see it going further than top 40 if it's lucky, but considering Padam only ever got to number 29 (?), I guess top 40 would be a win for Kylie at this stage.

Yes. This is the latest flyer from BMG, which confirms that October 8 is the adds date.



I mean, at least, they're giving the track an impact date, which wasn't the case for "My Oh My".

Different scenarios in my opinion.

Although it's true that BMG sent and impacted "Padam Padam" in the US after it became a hit elsewhere as you said, it should be considered that the reaction and the viral moment it had was massive (for her standards) that it was undeniable to not give a try to it in the US, which has been an elusive market for Kylie and her latest biggest hit was "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" back in 2002. Yes, I'm aware that it was available on September 2001 everywhere, but it was properly pushed in the US on January 2002. Regarding "Lights Camera Action", it's basically the effect of "Padam Padam" that they're trying a (kind of immediate) push of the track instead of waiting until it's a hit everywhere. The latter may or may not happen, but it seems that the expectations are higher this time after the disappointment performance of "My Oh My" and the announcement of her upcoming WW tour, which is going to include the US too.

Appreciate that they are trying, but this is way too "Love Island UK/Joel Corry" coded to do anything in the US.

What?!?!?! I never thought I'd see the day where Kylie had an immediate impact date on US radio again!!

This isn't too different than what some indie nightcrawlers have been serving at the bottom of the Top 50, so she could possibly get a second Top 40 hit within a year of her previous one!

My only small gripe was I wish they'd have tried pushing the title track, Tension, last fall, but that's only a small wish.
