What’s the point of Ava here though?
I don’t mind having a Guetta remix of the original. The lyrics and vocals from Alphaville are top notch, so a remix could make sense (even though I’d still prefer one of the 80s versions of the original). But Ava cheapens this even further IMO.
I don’t mind Ava interpolating hits. I got used to her mindless bops even though in some cases they’re reductive. But I think this is the worst culprit of an unnecessary remix and cover.
I admit I wouldn’t turn it off, though, and I wouldn’t mind it becoming successful just because I love the original and Alphaville.

the original version released in 1984 peaked at #65 on the Hot 100 and did not chart on Radio & Records . it is possible this version will be a bigger radio hit. so far it has 43 adds which is the second most.
