I'd bet BIG on Gracie Abrams getting the next star-making era - it feels like there's a big grassroots groundswell for her in the past few weeks. It's giving Sabrina's last era. Not saying she'll be as big as Sabrina, but I think the girl's an A-lister for sure. Not "GRASSROOTS" about the billionaire's daughter and Taylor protege  |

Tu Boda has now overtaken two Tyler tracks on AM so guess most of the album is now on its way down on that chart.
Sticky is up to #2 so that might be the "real" hit from it.

I feel like Tyler is going to be frontloaded.
Gracie Abrams is so boring to me. I get the appeal (nepo baby with famous friends) but the material is straight up trash.

I am not a big fan of the indie sad girl genre but at least with artists like Mitski or Phoebe Bridgers there is sincerity and actually applaudable songcraft. Gracie Abrams' music has the personality and bluntness of a wet blanket and her rising popularity is a reminder to us all of society's impending collapse. If she blows up to the same level as Sabrina (someone who has been consistently making great music for a decade now), it will signal very bad things to come in the form of Gracie sound-alikes. |

Regarding this "nepo baby" and "Taylor protege," first of all, let's not pretend that Taylor didn't come from a wealthy family and that they literally gave everything to support and accommodate her career, without such assistance she surely would not be who she is today. Who really cares if Gracie is a "nepo baby." Many, many stars from all areas of entertainment get far because they are already from famous families, that's just how it is, I'm not really one to pass judgement that the true "rags to riches" cases are the only legitimate stars. What matters to me most is if THE MUSIC IS GOOD, which if you don't think so alright, I'll give you that, but I actually like her and think she's talented, she has good reviews, and she has songwriting credits on all her songs, so she does contribute substantially to her output.

Yes they were “well-off” but that’s not remotely the same realm as Gracie being born to one of the wealthiest and most powerful men in Hollywood. |

Re: Gracie Abrams, she has obviously been a huge priority for Interscope since she got signed. Aaron Dessner wrote and produced her debut album right after Taylor had success with Folklore and Evermore, and the opening slot at The Eras Tour backed her second album era which is mostly her sounding like other artists depending on songs. It seems very "flavor of the month" to me without the uniqueness of Sabrina, Billie or Olivia. The songs are harmless and decent at times.
