I love how that talk twitter account is super vague for clicks. doesn't say it's challenging for this week, just implies it... that way they get the engagement now. and later.

Other than Taylor Swift and maybe Travis Scott/Sabrina Carpenter, who could drop an album that would have a massive impact on the Hot 100? Drake was able to to do until Kendrick cancelled him. Kenrick might be able to do it if he releases something close to the Superbowl.

The Weeknd, that Drake/PND collab album that's been done for a while so the question was more who could drop an album SOON that would have a massive impact? I was confused because why would Sabrina release something 3-4 months after SNS.

I don't think Drake is cancelled. He's definitely lost his dominance but i think he'll still do numbers with his next project. It just has to be good.

Here for them doing what they need to do to get ABS the record. Didn't Nas X need tricks the last few weeks at #1 to break the record? Shaboozey will be performing at one of the Thanksgiving halftime shows which could give a boost for the early December chart but probably won't be much of an impact What's most impressive is that I don't think ABS has relied on any tricks or gimmicks whatsoever, whether it be remixes, extra versions, excessive sales, excessive autoplay/playlisting, etc. It's pretty much just the original version, doing extremely well on all three metrics, #1 for multiple weeks in streams, sales, and airplay. And I don't think a regular televised performance such as a Thanksgiving halftime show would be considered a gimmick. We can say that it might not "feel" like a record-breaking #1, or that it won't be remembered in however many years, but it absolutely deserves it. The only thing that might come with an asterisk is that it has a fairly low week-to-week points total given very low competition now, whereas at many other times it wouldn't be going on 17 weeks at #1.

Radio refusing to play new songs is that exact reason why some of these songs stick around longer on the charts than they should. Since Teddy Swims, Shaboozey, and Benson Boone are not exactly lauded by the stan twitter crowd, it would be easier to mobilize them to call out radios lack of changing in their playlist until they see it and start having a lot more dynamic playlisting which leads to more interesting charts but that’s wishful thinking. "A Bar Song" is still top 10 in streaming (and would be #4 without the Tyler, the Creator album bomb; it was #3 the previous chart). "Lose Control" is still top 15 in streaming (and would be top 10 without the Tyler, the Creator album bomb, as it was the previous chart). It's not really fair to blame radio as people are still streaming these songs. Other than Taylor Swift and maybe Travis Scott/Sabrina Carpenter, who could drop an album that would have a massive impact on the Hot 100? See Tyler, the Creator in the part above. Wasn't his album released mid-week? Imagine if it had been released on a Friday. Anyway, some teams have just mistimed their promo to get songs to #1. If the physicals for "DWAS" had been held for this week instead, for instance, I think it could have challenged for #1. "BOAF" had a few small pushes at various points, so perhaps doing it all at once in a well-timed week would have gotten it to #1. It's obviously still crazy that "Espresso" never hit #1.

I would love for Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga to release a country version of Die With A Smile.

If Gaga/Bruno or Billie want that top spot, they will need to hurry because the Christmas rush will be starting very soon.

And with A Bar Song continuing to decline in points, they should be able to make up ground and get Die With A Smile to #1 for at least a week. Radio airplay is continuing to increase.

like 20 other artists? I don't get this question? I mean, I wouldn’t get that carried away. I think the list of true potential mega album bombs is fairly small. like Taylor Swift? no. but similar to Sabrina's, more or less successful (all or most tracks top 40/50): Drake, Olivia, Beyonce, J Cole, Future, The Weeknd, Ariana, Billie, Kendrick, Morgan, Zach Bryan, Bad Bunny, Kanye, Tyler the Creator, Adele, Rihanna probably if she ever drops, 21 Savage, SZA, Harry Styles, Lil Baby, Travis...

I mean yeah, I guess it would depend on what type of hot 100 disruption we’re talking. The phrasing made me think like major shakeup to the whole top 20.
I feel like Rihanna would be near Taylor level if she just dropped rn tbh.

Kanye is in an interesting situation here ,VULTURES 2 only managed to chart 1/4 of it's tracks, though i think that's more so the overall negative reputation of V2 even inside the fanbase, like what happened with Revival by Eminem, which every album he has dropped since has had an almost full album bomb.I also kinda have my doubts about Lil Baby pulling out a full album bomb post-2022,i just get the impression people are tired of him but that could just be a small fraction of online discourse,i didn't remember this but his last album did have a full 23 song album bomb . I don't think Harry Styles is on the same album bomb potential as the others either,he will get them, they will just be less impactful.

Stop the cap. ABS isn't special. It has remixes and sped up/slowed down versions on top of being 69 cents on itunes, amazon and his labels store since release Lets not forget the unprecedented payola. When was the last time a complete unknown dominated radio like this?

without christmas songs and Morgan's one week I genuinely feel like ABS might have been able to achieve an unbeatable #1 run Yeah, assuming it stays the highest non-Christmas song through that season and was also able to hlock Love Somebody, that equates to 25 weeks at #1 by the time Christmas ends, which is crazy.

Abel is cutting it real close, if the album isn't out by the 22nd I fear it ain't gonna be out until early next year, unless he pulls a SZA and drops right in the middle of the Holiday music dominance but I doubt that will happen since the sins of debuting behind Gunna still rest over him lol

So why isn't Gracie's team playing the radio game?
I know, they're doing a horrible job of timing her radio promo with her streaming peaks this era. Close to You wasn't promoted till months after it peaked on streaming, which was released even before the album and seemed like it would be the lead single. Then they promoted Risk when it wasn't even a streaming hit. I Love You, I'm Sorry was timed decently and sort of made sense, but now, That's So True is her biggest streaming hit by far, being #1 on both Spotify and Apple, and no radio promo yet. It's only been a couple of weeks though, so it would be baffling if they don't eventually promote it.
What's most impressive is that I don't think ABS has relied on any tricks or gimmicks whatsoever, whether it be remixes, extra versions, excessive sales, excessive autoplay/playlisting, etc. It's pretty much just the original version, doing extremely well on all three metrics, #1 for multiple weeks in streams, sales, and airplay. Can you document these specific instances? I wasn't aware of any major, ongoing gimmicks like these, and even if there were, they could not have been the primary reason for keeping it at #1 for 16 weeks.

Gracie Abrams released the live version of "That's So True" that was going viral.
Any way they could be trying to make the push for nr.1 before Christmas or without radio it's impossible?

Now that acoustic songs are popular, Ed Sheeran could have a commercial comeback if he returns to his roots.
